IIRC, he wasn't allowed to participate in the Olympics back in '94 because he tested positive for Sudafed. Gotta love the Olympics, the East German "women" used to make Takeo Spikes look tiny but never had any problems; but Uwe had a cold and used an OTC medicine and got punted. EDIT: Ooops. Upon further review, it wasn't the Olympics he tested positive for a banned substance. It was the 1990 World Championships, and it was for taking an OTC diet pill. Nevermind.
