  1. Moose Jaw Warriors continued their clutch play with an OT win tonight over Portland to take a 3-0 series lead. With the next two games in Moose Jaw, they have a great chance to end it at home. Savoie with an assist.

  2. Going home up 2-0 - Go Warriors! I don't believe they've ever made it to the Memorial Cup before. Savoie with one apple tonight. They're doing great for a team that only finished third in the eastern conference. You never know once you get in....

Marner is rightly getting buried for that comment.

Part of me wants to chalk it up to him being a hockey player and hockey players not being the most articulate cohort.

OTOH, there's so many different things he could say there. Simpler things. "Obviously, you're playing in Toronto, this is a town where your fans just live and die with the team. Hockey's so, so important here. So we have a lot to live up to."

And so on. But he went with "we're ... kind of gods." By which, I think, he just meant "we're gods."

From everything I see, the fan base wants him gone.

Marner didn't say he thinks they're "gods", he said they're looked on by Leafs fans as gods, which is basically true. The whole thing is the exact thing that happened to The Beatles when John Lennon said they were "bigger than Jesus", which was true with teenagers at the time. The whole thing is ridiculous.

  4. Huge game 7 between Matt Savoie's Moose Jaw Warriors and the hometown Saskatoon Blades tonight. Winner gets the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL final for the right to go to the Memorial Cup. If game seven goes to OT, it would be 6 of the 7 games in this series, which would be a record (at least as far back as they have stats for this).

    Go Blades!

They play game 6 tonight, 7pm Moose Jaw time. A loss would leave plenty of time for Savoie to fly to Rochester and get a few practices in.

Moose Jaw won in another OT game. Game 7 in Saskatoon on Tuesday. Go Blades!

I do and so should everyone, he basically said he did a search for the best candidate and it's only 1 guy. Anyone wondering if this is a PR stunt it now would clarify that it is 100%. Why even post this?

Why work yourself up like this over speculation? You and I have no idea who KA talked to. Nor do I really care either, we got the right man for the job IMO.

If any Amerks "earn spots" this offseason,  Kevyn Adams failed miserably.

Serious question - have you ever, I mean ever said anything remotely positive on this forum? Even once? It's tedious having to scroll through your always predictable, always negative posts.

Maybe both told Kevyn "Thanks, but no thanks"? I am also open minded to Lindy. Emotion we will get and I don't think that's a bad thing. I agree, the rest of the staff is a huge key!! Let's see what New Jersey does next season under Green before you write him off. Hopefully Lindy does much better than Travis but I believe a full season under Green and Jake Allen in goal will get the Devils on the right path once again.

The Canucks weren't very good under Green. Look at 'em now...

A mini opening to express my view that a new coach should always come in with his own trainers, equipment people, medical staff etc. I am not convinced a part of the toxic, losing atmosphere with the Sabres doesn't reside in all those people who are in the ears of the players. I'd toss broadcasters, team media people, alumni in that mix.

    Make a clean sweep, Berube.

I can't imagine an NHL coach would have any interest in, or have any influence on selecting broadcasters, media, trainers, equipment people, or medical staff. That sounds completely like fantasy land. Particularly medical staff. Coaches dedicate their time towards coaching duties. Exactly what expertise does a potential coach have in picking medical staff, other than none?

It’s a good time for a new coach. Believe it or not, we can still create a great team out of what we have with a couple new (tough) additions.

Skinner MUST go. Adams would need to go too for us to get beyond a 1st round playoff loss level. The man is simply over promoted 4 levels above his competency. Time for Pegula to wake up.

I agree Skinner must go, but we may have to hold on to him one more year before buying him out. I simply disagree with your over-the-top comments about Adams, I firmly believe we're on the path, and he will get us in the playoffs next year, and for several years thereafter. "4 levels above his competency" is just silly and disrespectful.
