Sorry. Not suggesting going after Hughes. Just asking if he’d probably be the highest tier. But let’s say we go after McTavish. We’re not getting McKenna. And anyone we get (besides McKenna) may or may not be as good as McTavish. McTavish is also ready to be a 2C (possible 1C) for us now. Assuming someone went after him, what would the offer sheet return require? 1st and 3rd?

Surprised Luke Hughes isn’t signed yet. Would it likely take four 1sts to offer sheet him? And I’m starting to think offer sheeting Mason McTavish might be worth it. It won’t be the highest tier. Reading that the Ducks want to bridge him so maybe he’ll be more inclined to accept a long term deal and shoot, maybe the Ducks won’t like the long term deal and refuse to match it. I just think McTavish is just what we need for this year and the next 10. He’s a future star.

It’s hard to say what his value is. His contract isn’t a deterrent. His health and inexperience is. I could see him possibly having a higher upside than Quinn. There were times when he played he looked better than Quinn at least. I think it comes down to what Jarmo thinks of his injuries and probably the attitude he carries. If jarmo says he quits on his teammates and doesn’t go full when he’s not happy, then pass.

What do you mean by #2? And anything the league can do to even help the Sabres?
