Doesn't Power rank really high in entry denials? I bet we see Power as the rooming denial defender and Clifton as the defender who is behind him in case he loses or there's a passing option.

    This signing is great.

I don’t think with those numbers he’s playing with Power.

He’s a 5/6/7 guy on a Stanley Cup team - which is why this is a great signing.

    Get a Top 4 D.  Goalie.  Let’s go.

  2. Also tore his in the summer but he’s 34

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Carolina Hurricanes winger Max Pacioretty suffered a second tear of his right Achilles tendon, the team said.

Pacioretty was placed on injured reserve after he was hurt late in the third quarter of a win over Minnesota.

Players placed on IR must sit out a minimum of seven days, but this injury will almost certainly end Pacioretty’s season. The 34-year-old had surgery over the summer after the initial tear of his right Achilles tendon.

  3. I called trading Eichel as inevitable a year before it happened - not because he wasn’t the generational talent we hoped he’d be.  It was because we weren’t ever going to be good enough before he turned 30.  It had to be done.  Same Reinhart.

I was only angry at Jack after the game here at home.  The comments about the fans.

Whatever.  The trade worked out for both teams and I couldn’t be happier.  Watching ROR win the Cup - that was terrible.  And, it probably added to Eichel needing to leave.  The whole team saw how badly we botched this post 2015 draft build.

I wasn’t rooting for Vegas to start   Then I saw Eichel play against McDavid.  That was the guy we drafted.  The 2 way game.  The speed, power, and hustle.  Here he was dominating all 200 feet and if I’m not mistaken just back in January - was called out by his coach for his play.  He could have sulked pouted and maybe this didn’t work out but it has.  That’s a sign of much maturity.  He never had that leadership here.  To hold him accountable.  And he beat McDavid.

I still don’t like that Murray looked as dour as he did when we got 2nd pick.  It’s his personality and it’s why he wasn’t a good leader of a franchise.  I’m sure Jack knew there was some disappointment and well….just a 6 year mess.

People grow, change, mature.  Or not.  But I like the game he’s playing and I like how Vegas is built and plays together.  I’ve been rooting for them since Edmonton and hope they win it.

I’d like to thank Florida for knocking out the 3 teams I hate the most in the NHL.  Well done.

  4. Jason Botterill Still an Option in Penguins GM Search

The Pittsburgh Penguins seem set on Kyle Dubas, but there are still a few names floating around the GM search.

The Pittsburgh Penguins could name a new general manager at any moment and the likely outcome is the involvement of Kyle Dubas in some way.

Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcaststated that people in and around the Penguins organization are preparing for Dubas to take control.

If it ends up not being Dubas, however, who is left in the running?

Friedman stated previously that Mathieu Darche and Steve Greeley are being held as backup options if Dubas decides to go another direction, but there was a new name to add.

According to Friedman, he was told that Jason Botterill might still have a fighting chance in this race.

Botterill has been back and forth in the Penguins’ GM search since the very beginning and at multiple moments seemed to be completely out of the running.

  5. I couldn’t care less about Eichel.

Have been rooting against Vegas from day 1 of his arrival there but their winning doesn’t bother me in the least.

The story of this playoffs to me is the Oilers.

How come McDavid and Draisaitl haven’t won 1 Conference Final game at this point in their careers - and only appearing in one?

I expect the Coach to be fired and then to be extremely active in the goalie market.

  6. 1.  When Muel is out we can’t crumble

    2.  Same if Tuch is out

    3. The PK will be better - because our D needs to be upgraded

    4. Better on faceoffs

    5. We need to be more physical in the top 6 - take notes during the playoffs.  Maybe that’s just getting stronger in the weight room - that will help.  But these guys by their nature and the system don’t play physical.  Just tweak this.  We can move Tage around to create matchup problems at times and take advantage of our Center depth - not allow the D to be able to focus on and think they can be physical with Tage.

    6. Will Savoie and Kulich make this team and will Casey Center them?  Curious how highly he speaks of the prospects.

    7.  Promotions for all in the FO to keep it in tact

    8. We are working with Dahlin and Power on extensions.  Casey to - imo reasonable 4 mil per for 3 years.

    9. All options on table but Levi is presumed 1. I want Adams to say I crushed that trade.

    10. That Kim is aware of the season we had.  That her and Terry are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Summarized.

  7. Is this a props to KA thread?  By *this* does the OP mean reinvigorating a team, a franchise, and it’s fan base with one of the best young cores in hockey and possibly in Sabres history that became relevant for the first time in over a decade.

Can he help the Bills at the draft in 2 weeks?
