  1. I have a 2011 Audi A4 Titanium edition (S4 suspension, OEM trim blacked out, 19 inch RS5 wheels). It’s fun but affordable for the minimal driving I do these days. My office is 2 miles from home, and we take my wife’s car on longer trips. Just topped 65K but I’m slowing down and doing less than 5000 a year now.

My wife has a 2016 Honda HR-V. That thing is a little tank and I love it. Not particular quick (especially when she keeps that damn eco-mode on which throttles the gas pedal). But it drives small, you sit high, and there’s tons of cargo room. I added a class II hitch for a bike rack. Other than that, this thing is pretty bullet proof and has required zero attention. Gets way better MPG than my car ?

Ohio is doing away with front plates next summer. I’m already eyeing some new grilles for mine...

  2. Kawhi was drafted 15th overall. Pretty remarkable in its own right. But perhaps more impressive is that it actually makes him the highest drafted Raptor. Lowry, Siakam, and Ibaka were late first rounders. Gasol, Danny Green, Powell were all mid-to-late second rounders. An undrafted VanVleet put that team on his back last night to win them game 6.

Compare that to the Warriors, who had KD (1st), Steph (7th), Klay (11th), Cousins (5th, Igoudala (9th), Livingston (4th), Bogut (1st). Still value to be had later for GSW, with Draymond as an early second rounder and Looney a late first. Cook undrafted.

Fun stuff considering the typical NBA roster assembly.

  3. Sounds like the gunman didn’t get far, according to ESPN

According to Dominican National Police Director Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte, the gunman was captured and beaten by a crowd of people at the bar. Bautista said police are waiting until the man undergoes treatment before questioning him.

  4. Anniversary dinner tomorrow night. Great excuse to try the new steakhouse just up the street from us.. A quick peek at the menu has my wife thinking twin lobster tails, while I’m eyeballing the 8oz filet. Will report back!

I spent the last week in LA for business. I venture out and try to find good grub each night with coworkers that know the city. Two of us visited a taco spot one night that was literally tucked away in an alley, underneath a pop up tent in downtown LA. Not a single person there spoke a word of English, and neither of us speak any Spanish. I have no idea what I ate. But I know it was delicious.

Also, horchata is incredibly delicious. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend. A simple yet tasty drink to accompany the spicy tacos.

Nope. No way. Aww naw.  You ain't from here dropping that "the" in front of a route number. That straight up wack ass Buffalo *****. No need for that here.'

I grew up in Rochester without the “the.” But then moved to Buffalo for my driving years and acquired the “the.” Now I’m in Columbus, where the only “the” we have is in front of The Ohio State University. But I spend a lot of time in LA for work, and they put a “the” on their expressways.

    I’m conflicted.

How many weed jokes have you heard so far?

This is so strong that it is distinctly skunk.. Not even any room for interpretation! We’ve been trying to cover it up with a spray but all we have is this mediocre lavender Febreeze. It isn’t really helping haha

The only good thing about living in New England sports-wise is that I don't have to use a VPN with NHL.tv to get my Sabres fix (except for Boston games, of course).  That said, I always have an active VPN subscription since I keep it going 24/7 on my phone.

I’ve considered doing this.. curious about your rationale and your experience.

**** cancer... caught it early though, tumor in my bladder, surgery to remove june 19, sounds routine and very treatable... scared crap out of me initially... as ive read up... fairly common in males over 55... guess who turns 55 in 3 months... I'm ahead of schedule lol

Best of luck! June 19th ain’t a Thursday, so the surgery has to go well since there’s no complaint thread to post in. Fingers crossed that all future updates are in the Awesome thread instead?

Could just be Bogosian missing from the top 6 to start. And really, if Botterill does his job, that's our 3rd pairing RHD.

Unless Risto is moved out, Bogo is already our 3rd pairing RHD behind Montour and Risto. A pricy one, albeit. But I’m not sounding the alarms yet unless Montour’s news comes back disastrously.

  10. Love this thread idea..

MLB: Old Yankee Stadium, New Yankee Stadium, Cleveland, Cincy, Toronto, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, San Diego but not for a game

NFL: Bills only, I think. Plenty of OSU football games at the Shoe.

    NBA: Cleveland, Orlando

NHL: Buffalo, Toronto, Columbus, LA Kings

  11. Gotta show a little love for CC Sabathia hitting 3000 Ks earlier this week. Only the 3rd lefty in MLB history to do so and 17th pitcher overall. For comparison, 32 hitters have recorded 3000 hits. This is a pretty elusive club!

Hehe, much love, NS. Giphy is just an online depository of animated GIFs. They seem to integrate well with many platforms, including message boards! If a picture can say a thousand words, imagine how many a moving picture can say....

Old Montreal.  Sit at a sidewalk cafe and drink and watch the people and happenings.  I would not leave that spot at atol.

There's not much I like more than a good bagel and coffee... If I find a nice cobblestone patio, I imagine I could waste a lovely day away watching passerby and consuming carbs ?

  14. I might find myself in Montreal for the first time this August. I’d be accompanying my wife as she attends a science conference. So really a zero-agenda trip for me. My days would be free to explore solo.

Any recommendations for attractions, foods, beers, sights?

Who is everyone rooting for in the playoffs? Not only in the series but overall.

This is the order of my rooting interests this playoffs:

It's been a fun week watching in Columbus! I catch quite a few Jackets games on TV, go to a handful of games each year, and I have some good friends/coworkers that are passionate fans. My expectations were low heading into this series and therefore I was feeling pretty dismal about the upcoming offseason. I even tried to temper expectation to a few folks at work that passively follow the NHL and were overlooking Tampa's historic season. But wow, they've been out-hustled, out-coached, out-played, you name it.. Check your milk cartons tomorrow for Steven Stamkos' face.

Here's my rooting order, if I had to whip one up:

    Columbus

    Colorado

    Nashville

    Calgary

    San Jose

    Tampa Bay

    Washington

    Winnipeg

    St. Louis

    Carolina

    NY Islanders

    Dallas

    Pittsburgh

    Boston

    Vegas

2020 lock out commences early, no Cup awarded

    Toronto
