  1. I'm not sure there is a forward that I would consider a playoff specialist. My point was that referring to anyone as a "specialist" infers that he is a liability to your team in other parts of the game. Guys like Stamkos and Ovechkin bring so much more to the game. Do they excel on the power play? Of course but to state that they shouldn't play 5 on 5 is, well, laughable.

See Donald Addett (not sure about the spelling!!!) former sabres winger

  2. 1st off...

    Kane will be fine.

    2nd off...

most or all of the sabres #s are down (stats r 4 losers!)

DB needs to play Kane with players who go to the net and throw pucks to the net...oh wait we don't have many

Kane is a force that other team fear and plan ahead for.

if or when the sabres make the playoffs Kane is the type of player that plays well when the going gets tough...See the jets fans comments from last year

ps did I mention Kane will be fine!

pps Go Sabres, keep bring in real "Hockey" players to Buffalo

  3. I agree

the sabres seem to do better when they get the puck in deep and go after it, although they did just score some goals

they seem to try to be a puck possession type of team and not a get it deep and go bang 'em type

  4. Moving Zemgus to a line with Eichel defeats the purpose of using Zemgus to spell ROR of defensive responsibilities.  Z and Gionta on the 3rd line.  Kane with ROR.  Eichel with Moulson.  Move the rest of the parts wherever you see fit.

And move McGinn up even to the 1st line with ROR and kane!

Wasn't McGinn ROR's linemate in Col.?

  5. He struggled early, but I think it's mostly just different usage. He went from being the top line center with the best teammates, tons of minutes and 1st unit PP time to 3rd line center. I'd still like to see him on the wing in the top-6.

This can be said for Ennis, Girgensons and Larsson

they were all the number ones last year at some point and put up better numbers

    Ennis will be fine

    Girges will be fine

    Kane will be fine

I for one do not like the line combos

when healthy he should put Girgenson with ROR

    and

have Reinhart (Spelling?) center the third line and develop as a center

    also

has he tried Kane with ROR?

  6. I believe Girgenson is not the player he was before.  During this last year he was actually destroying people.  During that same time I felt other players hit him very hard which should have drawn penalties but did not.  This went on for sometime  and resulted in him getting hurt.  I do not think he will ever be the same.  I am still a big fan and think he will be a major contributor but he will never have the big hits he had last year.

    again just my observations!

    Go Sabres!

    ps girgenson will fine!

  7. Who cares what Newbes think?  Toughen up buttercups!

This site is nice because if U post something stupid or silly people call u on it.

It the bickering back and fourth that is interesting

    and

I am the smartest guy in the room because I know I am not the smartest guy in the room...the trick is to take it all in and figure it out!!!

    Go Sabres!!!!

  8. Does anyone else look at the Lehner deal as being something we can use to learn about GMTM in many ways? If Lehner truly ends up being elite (whatever "elite" means to you) - GMTM shows great evaluation skills. If Lehner is "good enough for 2 years, and at that point either one of our prospects becomes "elite" and GMTM lets Lehner go and accepts that, he shows that he is willing to accept change and not strictly rely on one of  "his boys". If Lehner bombs from the start, and GMTM doesn't hesitate to correct the mistake, is he showing that he will own up to his decisions?

It seems everyone who had problems with Darcy were upset not just because of mistakes, but because we seem to have had to live with those mistakes for so long. I am anxious to see how GMTM does when something doesn't work (The ROR trade can be looked at the same way). I don't expect him to be perfect, I just hope he can own up to and attempt to fix things when they don't work out. And I am hoping this works out.

    Well said.

For GMTM if Lehner is a legit number one Goalie he has done a masterful job of creating a solid team to make some noise in the playoffs!!! (Soon)  If not he still has made moves to make the Sabres a tough team that should be hard to play against... I love it!

    Go Sabres!!!
