  1. I think both Girgs and Bogo have an equal shot at redeption. They both play a game I can only describe as dumb. Not that either are dumb, but their game is dumb. I suspect that an up tempo attacking game will suit both of them.

They are both better than we saw last year! (No where to go but up!) Bogo will be a physical D-man who hits and can carry the puck, unlike last year, where he was lost for the entire year. I think Grigs could be a good option on ROR left side and PK 1 winger

  2. Detroit got worse this week losing Datsyuk, Montreal got worse long-term, Tampa will get worse because of the cap, Boston is determined to Sweeney-fy...

Hell, if Murray won the Pysyk trade we've gained ground in the entire division.

I disagree, Datsyuk is going to mother Russia so they freed up $$$, Montreal got Weber and Tampa has a great chance to win the cup!

  3. Longer term for a longer price, along with other aspects that I believe are an issue. Granted they cannot be fully proven, but I still hold them

Honestly, if Stamkos wanted a $11Mx5 deal, I do that all day

I'd give the max for 5 yrs.  It's the 6th and 7th years that kill the teams that sign them(big name FA).  It would also make him more move-able in the future even with the NMC (if he can have some say in where he would be going)

but I don't think he signs in Tor or Buff for only 5 years, but we can dream!!!

    Go GMTM

  4. I can agree with you on what he should get but I think I'm record as saying some GM will pay him 5. He will be an interesting one to see.

You really think McGinn gets 5 Million a season

WOW I love me some McGinn but I don't see it!

it would be great for him

maybe 4 million for the next 2 years (high end$)

  5. Agreed. I don't think GMTM has any interest in him. Unless we're looking at playing the backline when Clitsome ands Pu are on the ice.

Term though? That's not a contract I want for a guy like that.

You say you like McGinn. I'm guessing what you think he's worth is half of what he signs for. What do you think he signs for?

    A Wiercoch of course!!!!

I think McGinn gets Shaw $ around 3.something

I would give him that for 2 years and put him back with ROR until our young wingers are ready and we need to sign our young guns to new deals

I don't see someone giving McGinn more than what Shaw got, but you never know

  6. #Canadiens sign Andrew Shaw to a six year de

The dollars for Shaw are fine, but I'm not a huge fan of committing long term to relatively replaceable talent.

He is a nice player (I like him alot) but as u put it he is totally replaceable anyone could play with towes (spelling?) or Kane

again I would have loved to draft him, but not trade for and then sign him.  with the exception of Vasey no big free agent signings please!!!!

He is a little better than McGinn who I love, but not for $3-4 million

They are great for around $2 million

total team players that make cup teams win, but again u need to draft them or get them on the cheap!

  7. I think a fair bit, in general, not just in regards to Pirri, depends on Vesey, and that's why I hope that situation is resolved sooner rather than later. With Vesey, we have our top 6 LWs set in Kane and Vesey (and we could add ROR to that list if we happen to sign Stamkos). Without Vesey, there could be an opening there.

Girgensons is a wildcard as it's hard to say where he will slot in. Let's say for arguments sake our 3rd line stays the same as last year, Foligno - Larsson - Gionta. Girgensons would very likely (aside from injury) have to slot in as the 4C. Deslauriers - Girgs - Moulson. Girgensons could be that 2nd line LW with no Vesey, but if he isn't playing there, he could be a good trade candidate (as much as I like him).

So I think that 2nd line LW spot is down to Vesey, a potential FA, or Girgensons. IF Vesey signs, I don't think we bring any other forwards in. The possible exception being Stamkos. Signing Stamkos would probably bump Kane down to 3rd line LW, Foligno down to 4th, and Moulson to the bench.

If Vesey doesn't, well, we'll probably be looking for LW upgrades.

Let me start with I'm a big Kane fan, but

I think Kane should be on the 3rd line like Kassels in Pitt

a 3rd line with Kane, Foligno, and larson could be great... Kane will score 20 on any line. Get Foligno to start crashing the net and let Larson clean up! Put Girgensons with ROR and also use them as your 1st PK unit.

I think Vesey would be a huge signing for us for the future (even bigger than Stamkos) due to the size of contract (it scares me)

ps my wife says size matters!!!
