Alright, draft is quickly approaching. This is a major moment in Sabres history. Any of you having a special or appropriate beer while watching Eichel get drafted? Would like to hear fellow Sabres fans are sippin' or slammin' when it all goes down.
Bud Light. An American beer while watching an American prospect be drafted to an American head coach on an American team. 'Merica.

The power went out here and a lot of the businesses along Jefferson ended up closing early. We tried to go to Dibella's and it was shut up tight.
Ah that's right, that didn't even cross my mind. Oh well, I will make another stop at some point
-
They were closed? Was it Sunday? Strange.
Anyway, it's nothing fancy. It's a beer warehouse. But they keep the vast majority of beer at about 50 degrees.
Nope, it was 2 days ago, Friday. In fact, 2 other cars pulled into the parking lot and tried going in and realized it was closed so I wasn't the only one haha but I will have to give it another try on my next beer run
-
If you fancy a better overall location that's nearby you should check out AJ's Beer Warehouse on Clay Rd in Henrietta. Walk-on temperature controlled beer rooms, 30 or so taps.. better prices and staff.
Odd, because I actually stopped there first and they were closed even though they should have been open according to their hours posted. Is it nice inside? The exterior has a pretty unassuming look to it.

Stopped by BoTW this afternoon and picked up my favorite German beer: Schneider Weisse Original Tap 7. Cheers everyone

I think thats my favorite of their stuff.
I'm actually trying to cut down on the beer drinking; especially during the summer I usually have 1 or 2 a day, and forget about the weekends. However, I've got some homebrew that'll be ready to crack open tomorrow when I get home from work, so I have a feeling that will happen...
Yeah their porter is very smooth. Although I tend to drink less porters and stouts as it gets warmer out, I've been craving their porter recently. What kind of homebrew did you whip up?

Can't believe this thread has been collecting dust for about 7 months. Going to grab a growler of Rohrbach vanilla porter after work

I'll be pretty disappointed if we use a roster spot on Kaleta. I think we have plenty for the 4th line without him.
Agreed. I see no necessary role that needs to be filled by Kaleta on this team now or into the future.

Any of these will work...
*Turns this into a drinking game*

Tampa seems shell shocked right now.
I don't know if they have the experience to rebound from this tonight. They may need a fresh start in Game 2. Let's see how much grit they have
-
Didn't see that coming! What a change of events

I'm torn. OT would be awesome, but waking up at 4:30 for work in the AM makes it harder to swallow...

There's the equalizer!

There's a good mix of bourbon and scotch recommendations, depending on your fancy. It's much easier to find cheap good bourbon than cheap good scotch, but Dewars and Monkey Shoulder are inexpensive scotches if you're so inclined. Happy reading!
Excellent! Cheers

Should be able to find most of those; 3 are from the same distillery as Evan Williams! ;)
Absolutely. I feel pretty proud of this one and how it took on a life of its own (largely due to the participation by afficionados such as yourself). Hard to believe it's been going 4+ years!

Edit: don't listen to me... only EC is from Heaven Hill. All Kentucky, though.
Sorry for edits, too much whiskey for bio this evening.
Great, I'll keep an eye open for them. Maybe this weekend I will have time to scan through the thread and see what I can pick up from others

I'm echoing earlier posts, but it bears repeating: even on a college budget, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, and Elijah Craig 12 are all worthy of consideration.
Edit: almost forgot WL Weller!
Are these all local distilleries? I have never heard of them personally but I will take your word for it. I'll be sure to write these names down next time I go to the local liquor store

Cheap college student myself, I don't mind Black Velvet but I'd rather Evan Williams or some Red Stag
Yeah, Evan Williams and Jack Daniel's are my typical choices but I just grabbed this in a pinch. Not too bad

TB putting the pressure on right now

For those that are super busy a little help in getting your favorite whiskey...
This was wildly entertaining. Having a glass of Black Velvet Reserve. Yeah I know, cheap whisky but as a college student what do you expect really?
-
And I hope you're drinking strait whiskey, and these ice cubes are gonna make the difference.
Straight. 1 ice cube. I'll continue this in the proper thread. I don't want to completely derail the first thread I participate in

This thread seems to have inspired a few lurkers to post a bit. I like it. As long as none of them come in with a username related to a legendary Czech Goalie but go with a hockey player wearing a Team USA jersey... Oh wait.
;)
Ha!! I knew I would get flak for that. Just threw in the picture as a placeholder before I knew what my member name would be. Don't worry, a change in picture is necessary
Welcome!
Now grab a beer, turn on the Cup game, and join us in that thread.
Will do! Although I am thinking a glass of whisky will be the drink of choice tonight

Totally forgot about InBev... C'mon you don't like Sam Adams? Is it the Boston thing or the actual beer itself?
