  1. Barney Milker was one of favorite TV shows of all time. One of the few shows you could watch over and over and still catch some line or reference you missed.

Favorite episode of all time when they all are brownies laced with hashish, Fish was awesome.

I remember this episode. "Best I've felt in 10 years and it's illegal!" He chased down some young offender and cuffed him.

  2. Staf is back in the lineup and Armia is supposed to be on a line with Ladd and Little tomorrow evening. Back to the RW position.  Some would say that is our first line.

Ehlers, Scheifele and Wheeler make up the other top line so I don't know which is considered our #1 line. Armia is on one of the top two anyway. He got on the ice for over 18 minutes for each of the last two games. I like his game so far.

  3. Too bad, and I woke up early today too...

He played his best game to date. His line was hopping.

Scheifele, Staf and Lowry are all out so Armia was playing LW with Perreault and Ehlers on RW on the 2nd line. They were pretty good. Looked dangerous almost every shift. The team is missing those three injured players though.

Armia did the right thing when he got called up and I would bet that some players mentioned to him to try to play in the system. He played good, smart D so the coach trusts him and starts moving him up. It is totally up to Armia how high up the lines he will play. I'd like to see Armia, Scheif and Wheeler on a line. I'd play the young kids as much as possible and evaluate them because the Jets aren't making the  playoffs. Use this time properly and put it to good use.

  4. You see how everyone disagreed with you for 3 pages. It's because you said some total ###### and got called on it. Constantly targeting me and trying to deflect doesn't make you right.  You still can show me where I "made stuff up" either because I didn't.

You clearly can't or don't want to understand the original point which was Lemieux is not as good as a top 10 pick in this draft.  He's a good prospect. I have literally posted that several times now. Hell at this point idk what you are arguing?  Trading him makes GMTM suck? Makes that trade super lopsided? You think he will be a top 3 player?  What?  What is your point about Lemiuex?  I didn't like the Kane trade much when it happened and I don't like it much now.

How has Arizona out tanked us?  In what way?  Because they have 2 2nd round guys on that list?

Also no ones analysis includes Possler or Oloffson, two guys who I think could factor in. Can't wait til they get to NA.

Lemieux will be a 4h liner and would be lucky to be a 3rd line player. He'll make the NHL but if he plays on the 3rd line, that is a bonus. Also, Armia is a much better prospect and a better piece to that trade than Lemieux. Analyzed today, that trade doesn't look good on Murray.

  5. Three forwards out (Staf, Scheifele, Lowry) so Armia gets bumped up to the 2nd line with Perreault and Ehlers. He got some time on the PP and ended up with over 17 minutes of ice time. He's got some slick moves and is a really good passer. He won't be going to the farm any time soon. He saw some time in the last night's game against Nashville on the third line.

  6. If they give him a look on a higher line, I hope it's for more than 2 or 3 games. He won't knock Wheeler back in the lineup and few around here think he will knock Staf (LW right now) or Ehlers back either. He has played a lot of LW since being called up.

His center on the 4th line is Copp, another name that nobody remembers seeing play that gets about 8-9 minutes a game. I just think it is right that Copp is getting the time on the 4th line because that is where he is expected to play. Armia should be getting a look at the 2nd line because that is where he is expected to play. I think his D game is adequate enough and honestly believe he plays a smarter game position-wise than Ehlers. Not even close actually. Ehlers is a name you can't badmouth in front of the locals. No problem he doesn't score for 25 games, shite no.............he's a rookie.

We aren't making the playoffs this year and Ladd isn't worth what he is asking for. Let some teams get into a bidding war for him and trade him. Wrap up Stuart in that trade too. Take prospects not picks. I see a team like Montreal giving a sweet deal back for Ladd and Stuart at the trade deadline. It'll help us look at a couple of younger players and finish poorly for a chance at a better player this draft.

  7. It may have been a nice goal (never saw it) but that's his only point in 12 games this year.  He's in his 5th year post draft, it's put up or shut up time and the guy can barely crack the roster and has 1 point in 12 games.  I haven't watched the Jets much so I guess I can't comment other than stats but he looked rather invisible to me in the game against us.  I think the trade may work out for both teams but not because of Armia IMO.

He's only a part of the trade and he is only 22 years old. The fans around here have no patience and want draft picks to be immediate 50 goal scorers. The teams that are consistent contenders don't bring guys into the NHL unless they deserve it. Let them learn the big man's game on the farm and when ready they are called up. Petan is a good example. He should have started the year on the farm. He just wasn't ready to adapt coming out of junior. I think Armia only played one NHL game before being dealt here so I am okay to have patience with him and move him up the lines if he deserves it. If he is playing the coach's system and is responsible defensively and isn't hurting the team, I think Maurice will keep him in the lineup. They've called up Halischuk from the farm so I hope it is Peluso that is sitting and not Armia. Even if he gets only 8 minutes a game.

  8. Kane and Bogo were both drafted by Atlanta not Chevy.....I don't think Chevy wanted to trade Bogo but you have to give to get right? The prospects coming this way were fairly high draft picks (2 first rounders and the 1st pick of the 2nd round)...... Kaner, Bogo, Myers and Staf are all first round draft picks in their years. A hell of a lot of projected talent in that trade.

As far as Staf getting a kick in the arse, not sure but I am more than pleased with his play. Myers started off downright horrible but his play has picked up as of late. If Buff is traded, Myers' points total will go way up next year. Buff is getting about 24 minutes a night.

Don't have anything dissatisfactory to say about Armia.

  9. With the injuries to Kaner and Bogo it makes it even harder to analyze the trade. It'll take at least another year and does someone have to win a trade? Can't both clubs be better off for it. Chevy inherited bare cupboards. A fair amount of higher end draft picks don't pan out. It is a gamble whenever picks are involved in a trade. He thought that he needed more in the cupboards still.  Chevy's draft prospects are starting to become 3 and 4 year after the draft players.....Scheif, Trouba, Lowry, are playing with the big team. The only two prospects from Atlanta that I can think of that are with the Jets are Postma and Chiarot.

I think Staf is doing more for the Jets than Myers to be ho nest.

We have Buff, Trouba and Myers as RHD and I'm gonna cry when they trade Buff. I'd sign him and trade Myers and whatever for Hamonic. Staf has been consistent all year. Both Kaner and Bogo looked good to my eyes. Bogo roughed up Armia in front of the net there one play and knocked him to the ice fairly easily. Armia could use some weight, he should hire Gary Roberts this summer.

Scheifele is out for a week but do you think Armia will get moved up the lines??? No........let's put Thorburn on the 2nd line and leave Armia on the 4th!!!

    pathetic...

  10. If either of those proposals hold any truth, I can't see anybody investing that much into both of those guys. I agree with you, if they signed one I'd take Buff. Even though he comes in to camp overweight all the time I think he has the physique to be a productive players well into his mid 30's. He brings more to the table than Ladd.

He doesn't come into camp outta shape, at least not since Maurice has taken over.

    Eleven,

How do I like what? The game?

Never knew Byfuglien was such a pu$$y. Lost all respect for him.

    ????

  11. Skimmed thru the thread quickly after the game.

    First, congrats on the win.

If anyone thinks there is racism towards Kaner or Buff or blacks in Winnipeg, it would be very, very little. Buff sells the most jerseys by far and if he is moved, it is because Chevy and he could not agree on a deal. Buff is loved by the fans. If there is racism here, it is directed more towards the native indians.

Also, before calling for a suspension on Buff, take a look at the dirty hit from behind (a much more dangerous hit) by Weber? on Ehlers.

  12. I love how I'm told I'm evaluating this trade too early, but people keep dragging me back in.  Maybe I'm only being told that because I'm not evaluating it the same way as everyone else?

    1) I don't particularly like Stafford or Myers.  Just about any other trade(s) would have been better, especially when you add in the other 3 valuable assets we parted with.  Stafford was going no matter what, so even a draft pick would have been better than the horrible trade that did occur.  Myers production would be a huge upgrade this year to what we've gotten from Bogo, even including any additional "concepts".  Isn't a big complaint the lack of offense generated from the defensemen on this team?

    2) I want more production, not "concepts", from the players we received.  If they are so superior to what we parted with, why aren't we seeing that?

    3) We would be better off with Myers, Armia, Lemieux, the 1st rounder, and a draft pick which replaces Stafford.  And that's sad.  The trade is a negative thus far.

We didn't necessarily have to part with all of that.  As a rebuilding team, was it even wise to do so?  Early indications are no.

Buffalo also paid half of Staf's remaining salary and Myers got a LOT of cash in the earlier stages of his contract. 12m the first year. His cap hit is 5.5m and he is making 5m this year and then 4m, 3 1/2m, 3m.

    Buffalo also got Jason Kasdorf.

  13. The Jets are as far from lst place as they are to making the playoffs so it is anyone's guess....mine is they don't make the playoffs.

Long story short, the Jets went with Ehlers, Copp, Petan (sent down), and Burmi and the youth didn't pan out. Lowry, Trouba, Myers, Ladd, Chiarot and a host of others started the season playing like they didn't belong in the NHL....Goaltending was shite too....some are picking up their games ... Myers has 8 points in his last 10 games for instance and Trouba has come around since being switched to LHD and paired with Buff.

Stafford, next to Wheeler, has been our most consistent player all year.

Does the trade have anything to do with it? Hard to say but I would think Myers' poor play early had something to do with it.

Hellebuyck is playing as advertised and could squeak them into the playoffs but I don't see it happening....our last 21 games are played in 40 days so I don't see us getting in....Also if Ladd/Buff aren't signed by the TD, they will be dealt and that would make us weaker.
