Basically said that the organization is doing a thorough investigation into what is holding them back as a team. He put more blame on the players than coaches, said that he does not intend to trade any of the core players, but he wants to bring in more talent to help them be competitive.

OK guys, Edmonton has had a strong showing recently. It's time for the Sabres to respond - what better way than against the Lightning tonight, who are at the very bottom of the CHL?

Okay guys, we had a minor setback in the CHL, but each week gives you a chance to right the ship. Edmonton is in action tonight against Arizona while Columbus plays Florida. The next five for the Sabres: Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay, Florida, Los Angeles, and Calgary. All winnable games.

Yes, it was a rough weekend for us in the CHL, but fortunately we have a lot to play yet - I imagine creating some separation very soon. To corroborate the post above, here are our possession stats: http://www.hockey-reference.com/play-index/tpbp_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&year_min=2015&year_max=2015&team_id=&situation_id=all&order_by=fenwick_pct (Fenwick) (36.8%) http://www.hockey-reference.com/play-index/tpbp_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&year_min=2015&year_max=2015&team_id=&situation_id=all&order_by=corsi_pct (Corsi) (37%) Goals For/Games Played: http://www.nhl.com/ice/teamstats.htm?fetchKey=20152ALLSAAAll&sort=avgGoalsPerGame&viewName=goalsFor (1.62)

Dubsinky should be back soon, so hopefully that will help get Columbus going. We're creating separation, which is good - because once teams start dealing for the tank, it'll get much more interesting.

Carolina/Columbus go to OT, Reinhart scores in juniors, McDavid with 3 assists, and Eichel playing well for BU vs BC tonight. A great night. Cheers..

True, a pretty quiet day NHL-wise. I'll still be rooting as hard as I can against the Blues - despite losing some of their key players (Backes, Oshie, etc...) they have been playing at a high-level. But as long as they hold our first-round pick, I want them to lose every game. Go Rangers!

Finish 30th - 20% of getting 1st overall, 100% of getting 1st or 2nd (0% chance of not getting McDavid or Eichel) Finish 29th - 13.5% of getting 1st overall, 33.5% of getting 2nd (66.5% chance of not getting McDavid or Eichel)

Hey all, Love that this thread was created. In a year that is difficult (by design), I'm having a ton of fun. As Buffalo fans we have legitimate rooting interests every night (against the Islanders and Blues, for 3-point games for pretty much everyone else for instance - especially the Canes and Coyotes right now). I'm all on board with the plan Murray has setup and actually had the chance to see Eichel in person this weekend. I went up to Boston to visit family and we went to the BU/Providence game. He didn't have as good of a game as he had the night before (shorthanded goal, assist), but you could see his skills on display. He's a big guy who flies up and down the ice, is physical, and is constantly creating opportunities for his team. In a year that the NHL wanted to discourage tanking, there's really only one great scenario: finish last so you have 100% chance of getting McDavid or Eichel. The odds of getting one of them drop dramatically after that, so it'll be a very interesting race to the bottom. If the 2015 draft was not as strong as it is, I don't think there would be the support that we see, but because of the generational talents available it's garnered more interest.
