  1. Mess is raising is trade value before our team has no hope after the deadline.  This game is both 1)fun to watch, and 2) increasing trade returns.  It's also not going to affect our eventual winning of the Shart.

Praying your hope isn't naive. I understand we'll be trading off a couple more players. I understand we have a favorable schedule coming up in March. I understand analytics are on our side. But this is Buffalo. And this may just be a new form of heart break we have yet to experience.

  2. I know we're only a period into his career here, but I'm willing to declare that Bogo is already a far better D man than Myers has ever been up to this point.

    GO SABRES!!!

Bogosian = 10x better than Myers

Can we at least wait a full game to evaluate Bogo? Dear God, it's been a period. Can you imagine what Jets fans are saying about Tyler after his 2 assist, offensively dominant performance?

The more I see the way TM is putting his team together the more I think Stewart is in the plan

Agree, he is definitely a TM player. Top draft pick too. Post trade, our roster is packed with even more early first rounders.

  3. Clear.  At least I think so.  I think you're going a bit overboard with top 3 only in the sense that there could be 3 players better than him on the team and yet he's still on the top line.  He can still be someone else's top 3 forward and not be top 3 on the Sabres.  I'd like to have that problem.  Frankly, the top 3/6 argument is completely irrelevant.  What we want the guy to do is show up and score 30-40 goals. I don't care if he does it from the 4th line.

A guy with over 5000 posts.  So, you know, perhaps take that into account that he didn't just show up yesterday.  As opposed to you who had 26 at the time I posted this.

ugh.. why stoop so low?  it's out of hand..

Yea I get that. I asked why and nobody has given me a legitimate answer. Is he a Panthers fan who has seriously posted over 5000 times in a Sabres forum? That's a little odd. And not only is he posting, he's pissing on our potentially franchise changing parade. I get it, I just started posting. And if you approach this board like some high school/frat boy hierarchy, I guess I understand where you would give a new poster a hard time. But dear God, check your priorities and allegiances if you're constantly sticking up for a FLORIDA PANTHERS fan.

  4. Good eyes fellas...

"McDavid (#1), Eichel (#2), Crouse (#3), Hanifin (#4) and Rantanen (#5) maintain the top five rankings in ISS Hockey’s release of its February ISS Top 30. Portland Winterhawks left winger Paul Bittner rises 12 positions to #18"

So as I stated in another post, my late round guys are Greenway, Boeser and Bittner right now. For defense I said Zboril but if you like a bit more of a stay at home and eat babies type of kid, Brandon Carlo... 6'5" 17yr old who is only at 185lbs (some list him at 205)... he's gonna get bigger.

"Brandon Carlo is an industrious, shift-by-shift defenceman who lets the game come to him rather than chasing the play; he is able to quickly adapt to the pace of the game on the fly. Through maneuvering his way around the ice and making high-percentage, skilled decisions in all three zones, he is able to shut opposition offense down before it begins to take shape. Carlo is a smooth skater who can control the puck very well and get into open areas for scoring chances; that being said, he does and will need help finding offense due to his natural defensive style of play. All-in-all, a towering, defensive d-man that has very few holes in his game and is physically ready to make the next step."

Going off Liger's comments for who I like in the late first right now:

Paul Bittner, 6'4" 202 lbs, LW for the Portland Winterhawks

He's a big kid learning how to be a man still. He plays hard and is a leader on the ice with how he plays. I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays against bigger, stronger players. Powers his way along the offensive zone and to the net, but he needs to be using his skill on a more consistent basis. He's been on fire as of late which has him nearing a PPG pace.

Jansen Harkins, 6'1" 180 lbs, C for the Prince George Cougars

You could pretty much read what I said about Bittner for Harkins, but he's not quite as big. On the other end of that, though, he has more skill than Bittner. He has kind of burst onto the scene this year doubling his production level. He's been under-the-radar here, but there's a good chance we don't get a crack at him without trading up. Plays all three zones very well. He's got that hard-to-play against style that everybody wants. Might be a pure upside pick since he only has one good year under his belt now.
