I voted no. I do not see Tuch and UPL here when this team goes deep.

If you trade the pick then the other team gambles that the player they want to pick is still there.
On the other hand you could pick the player you assess a specific team wants but likely wouldn’t have access to because they pick later. You then flip that player (and other pieces) for what you want from that team.
Can you work a side deal with another team who picks much later? Tell team X you’ll pick a guy they want and discuss additional pieces for an immediate trade.

It’s not embarrassing it’s sports fandom. They’re a rival team and no matter good or bad the Sabres play it’s always fun to see the Leafs lose.
Now if a member of the Sabres organization publicly rejoiced that would be different.

I think the biggest impact will be readiness. The Sabres seem to need half the first period before they settle into their game. Maybe that’s why they got outscored so bad in the first.
Team defense is another area Ruff will noticeably improve. To send that point home, ice time may be lost if you don’t put out in your own end. I don’t see this as a good thing if my name is Jeff Skinner.

No big reaction from me until I see who the assistants are. Even then I probably won’t react much until end of November.
Ruff has way more experience and success than the last three coaches. On paper he’s an upgrade IMO.

And of the team wins Lindy gets a credit. And if the team loses it’s those loser players and that loser GM who are standing in the way of Lindy‘s glory.

I’m just not going to get worked up in April when we won’t see what happens until October. I’ll probably have some reaction when I see who the assistants are and what rosters moves are made.

So, who do we think Lindy picks?
Do we think any players will have a notable positive/negative reaction to Lindy’s style?
What might Lindy’s focus be for improving team play?

Right now I say UPL is generally better in that he is more developed. Raw talent goes to Levi.

I’ve been a member/lurker for a number of years and the off-season is pretty dead on SS. This keeps the group engaged and is a chance to get to know people behind the posts.

Agree the PP needs to really improve. To the bold, I don’t think anyone should expect a young guy coming in to help with production. We should expect a veteran player to come in to do that.
An experienced 2C would be better than a 3C we are paying to be a 2C.
