Good news is we have 3 first round picks this year and 3 seconds in next years draft. I would LOVE for us to get one more 1st for 2023 but am unsure of how we could accomplish that.Ā

McDavid is screwed. Edmonton is one of the dumbest teams in the NHL.Ā

Edmonton has a defense problem IMPO.Ā

Nothing has changed for a decadeĀ

  2. I don't think it's a mystery, they were playing for tie with that time out. It was a 3rd down and they wanted to see the Raiders offense in order to prepare, so they took a timeout. That was the game for them right there and they wanted to be better prepared.

Does anyone else watch Good Morning Football regularly?Ā

    Good show.Ā

Every day since I work from home. Kyle Brandt is my favorite (and of course Kay Adams lol). They haven't had a permanent replacement for Nate yet, he was great.

tell me you arent watching the games without saying "im not watching the games"

I mean I'll tell you I'm not watching them, it's not a secret. Seen probably 5. I know Dahlin is not Risto, and I watch the highlights and the discussions in here.

sorry, that was a bit rough....i see you were asking a question rather than making a statement.

    Its nothing like Risto IMO.

The transition game is 10times what Risto's ever was at 5 on 5

Thanks, that's what it seemed like from the little I've seen/discussion in here.

Maybe a little bit. Looking at the numbers, there isn't too too much of a discrepancy relative to the rest of the defenders in the league manning the top page of the D scoring leaders. About 63% of his points have been at evens, which is similar to other top D. He's tied for 14 in the league among D men for points, and tied for 24th in even strength points, so there isn't too much of a gap there.Ā

I think he's good enough that the minutes probably remain regardless, and with an improved team I think the raw scoring totals go way up, particularly on the PP.Ā

Makes sense, appreciate the breakdown šŸ‘

Pacing for a career-high 53 points, as well. He may end up leading the team in points.Ā

Technically his points per game year 2 was slightly higher, but given the dearth of talent on the current team, the minutes he's playing, etc, I'd say he's been significantly better. That team had the talent to pace for 81 points, current roster is pacing for 63.Ā

Is it like Risto was though, where it was all PP points and simply a result of him being the only d man playing big minutes? I doubt it but when I see those numbers and similar team situations I wonder

Sorry about the doosh but I wanted to say I'm so glad Mabel has a good furrever home.

Bathrooms and kitchens in older homes are always scary remodels.Ā  When you remove the old stuff you see the water damage and it's frightening.

Well this does nothing to ease my panicĀ šŸ˜…

There's next to zero chance that Adams brings in a C through trade or FA that's as good as the Cs here, I'd wager.Ā

I agree with dudacek when he says they appear to be rather comfortable with the thompson mittelstadt krebs cozens outlook.Ā

It's draft pending but if they don't take a C high, I don't think they are going to sweatĀ itĀ

We aren't addressing 1c any time soon unless we develop our own, idk how we'd trade for 1 or if we even should.Ā

I don't think Wright would be 1c ready and I would leave him in the ohl honestly.Ā

Can't say I'm comfortable relying on Krebs/Cozens/Mitts as center going forward. A lot of unknown there and none really project to be a 1C. You can get away with that i.e. Drury/Brie, which I would love. Seems to be their plan I guess.

Umm this draft is already being overshadowed by 2023. I'd call it an average draft talent wise with some decent depth.Ā

By overshadowed I mean this and remember I'm not even mentioning Bedard yet... equivalence meaning NHLe

    Ā

That's insane. Gonna be interesting to see who's in the running for a ta k next year. I hope we're nowhere near him

  8. Without Wright, am I correct in assuming our 1C need for next season needs to be addressed elsewhere? I don't see anyone we have that can fill that role currently. And I can't see a trade or FA for that need, which is concerning.

Dude.Ā  That dude was something else.Ā  I don't think he didn't like you he was just a big pisser on every single parade and anyone that challenged his supreme idiocy about everything there was.

Just saw some of my old posts you liked, got a kick out of that šŸ˜„

What's interesting is there was a poster here who lost his mind over passing on Mahomes. Ended up getting banned which is sad because Allen is in that Mahomes level imo.Ā

That dude was a maniac, jeffismagic I think. Wildly entertaining for an offseason when the Sabres sucked. He really did not like me haha

Some high school classmate of his tweeted that his behavior started before college.

At least someone has overtaken Vontae Davis.

There's been stories for a long time about how awful he is. He dropped in the draft because of it. I'm not saying CTE and mental health issues aren't a real and prominent thing, especially in the NFL, but sometimes you're just an *****. I'm not attributing those actual issues people have to him and excusing his ***** behavior, the dude just sucks.

Until I rewatch them in preparation to see the new one, this is my recollection as well.

The one redeeming thing about Revolutions (see what I did there?) that I can remember was that it had the swirling school-of-fish robot attacks. I thought that that was an inspired choice for robot intelligence to make... if completely illogical in that it allows the enemy to concentrate their fire on focused area. Rather than just swarming from all sides at once when you have overwhelmingly significant numbers and are operating in a three-dimensional battlefield where your squidbots can fly. So --- it looked cool, but it was really foolish choice for a superior intellect.

Also just watched the finale of Wheel of Time season 1. And it was...Ā  fine? It was fine. I think the remainder of however many seasons they do with it will also be fine. Maybe not as fine as Samson Reinhart's career will be fine.

Man, the WOT. Talk about a love-hate relationship with that book series. Great idea combined with absolutely atrocious writing and character development.Ā

This about sums up my feelings toward that book series https://forum.malazanempire.com/topic/21832-hateful-wheel-of-time-review/

That said, I actually am looking forward to watching the show. It shouldn't have the same issues Jordan and his writing did.
