here are my rooting interests for tonight:
- Sabres over Canucks (10pm)
- Jackets over Wings (7pm)
- Devils over Pens (7pm), and especially not in OT since we'd really prefer both lost
- Leafs over Flyers (7pm)
- Canes over Isles (7pm)
The Caps are only 1 pt back on the Flyers with a game in hand, so they could move up into Met 3rd spot. However that doesn't remove them as an issue for us, it really just adds Philly as another team we care about. But at least 1 of the Met teams (Caps, Devils, Isles, Flyers, Isles) can still finish ahead of us and we can claim the final Wild Card, so long as it's only 1.
In theory it should help us as all those teams have games against each other to finish out the season. So long as they win in regulation (which is a big IF this time of year) that should help us make up groundMeanwhile, the Devils would be 1 point back on us (but still have a game in hand, so effectivity 1 point ahead of us unless they lose their game in hand)

So this was originally supposed to be on TNT last night for those of us out of market. Any idea if this will be on TNT tonight? I don't see it listed on ESPN+Nevermind found it on the website: https://www.espn.com/espnplus/player/_/id/ac5cfc0b-9787-4a89-9b6c-fe6d6b9d31ac it wasn't showing up in the app like normal.

Robinson, Jost, olofssonI kind of think Skinner should move off the top line if everyone is healthy. I'm also not sure Mitts should be our 3rd line center. So far we haven't had a proper 3rd line all season. I'm almost inclined to have Cozens center the 3rd line until/unless he gets back to the level of production from late last year. Although reuniting him with Quinn and JJP could be the spark to get him going again on a more consistent basis.
I'd still consider something like this:
JJP - Thompson - Tuch
Skinner - Mitts - Quinn
Benson - Cozens - Greenway
Robinson/Girgs - Krebs - Okposo
Jost, OloffssonAlthough Benson has looked pretty good on that top line, and I might not mess with it unless either he starts to struggle or to try to get the 2nd/3rd line going.

Caps had a slow start to their season, but have gone 8-1-1 in their last 10 and are on a 4 game win streak. It's going to be a big test.
Hopefully Levi can rebound from his last start

Yeah. I don't get it. Before the season they said 15 national games. But there have been several additional games added to NHLN on top of that list. I have NHLN, so it's not a huge deal to me, but for anyone who only has ESPN+ it's dumb. Plus I have no idea what feed I'll get. For one game it was MSG-B, another it was the hockey night in Canada feed.
I guess we'll see if it's MSG-B or TSN when the puck drops.

My college team was the Golden Knights (we predate the Vegas team), and we'd yet "Night" during the anthem.
I personally don't mind the anthems. I think it's cool we do both. I'd be fine if they stopped doing them all together. I'm not Canadian, but I know the English version of the anthem pretty well after so many Sabres games.
Pretty embarrassing this guy messed it up. I noticed it right away, but as someone else said, after how bad we played I kind of forgot about it.

Sabres start a 3 game road trip in Winnipeg tonight against the 8-5-2 Jets.
Looks like the game is on NHL Network instead of ESPN+ for those of us out of market, but will be on MSG-B for anyone in market.

I say they either just extend 3 on 3 to 10 minutes or do 5 minutes of 4 on 4 again. If it's still tied, then go to 3 on 3 for another 5 minutes. Get rid of the shootout. Bring back ties.
I'd do:
Win in regulation: 3
Win in OT: 2
Lose in OT: 1
Tie in OT: 1-

This is so dumb. I hate if we don't touch the puck in overtime..but that's on our players..not the rules. The circling back to your own end thing is kind of lame, but not nearly as bad as the "clog up the neutral zone" strategy in 5v5 a ton of teams employ. They going to add rules to "fix" that too?
Meanwhile we still have some games that are worth 2 points and some games that are worth 3. They should fix that first. Also get rid of the shootout. It's terrible.

I was at Pommer's 1000 game (which was awesome for me since he's one of my all time favorites and the jersey I'm wearing still due to my other jersey being unwearable)

Personally I like to the list the 2 RSN (when applicable) and otherwise indicate if it's a national broadcast in the US. I don't really know about Canadian broadcasts to include those for the Canadian members.
But I always look up every game anyways since I do a Game Day Info post in a slack server I belong to, so it doesn't matter too much to me if only MSG-B is posted here. I only have to worry about Caps games being blacked out here, or when a game is on NHL, TNT. Otherwise I'm using ESPN+ and it doesn't really matter.I'd like to see us get above .500 tonight and carry some momentum into Friday's game, since I'm coming up for that one. I'm really hoping we can start putting together a lot of multi-game win streaks this month to make up for our slow/inconsistent start to the season.

I have to assume the spot is because Benson got put on IR. They are calling his injury week to week. That left an empty spot. I would have thought they'd use it for Savoie (and they still might by sending Biro or Rousek back this weekend). If Savoie plays tonight I think that's his 5 games and they'll either need to bring him to the Sabres or send him to Juniors.
My guess is he'll get a tryout and they will drag it out until World Juniors unless he makes his case to stay on the team. -

Often NHLN games just pick up one of the RSN feeds. Hoping it's the Sabres feed since they are the home team. We'll see.

Apparently one of my friends isn't feeling well, so Sabres game it is. It'd be really good to start November off right and extending the win streak to 3 games..
