  1. Then we should stay away from the free agent market forever. Can you please name one top 6 forward or top 4 dman who was signed to a good contract from FA?
  2. You miss the point. His worth is set by the market. Fans ideas of what a player is worth are almost always lower than what they really are. If the market will pay him the money he is worth the money. Everything has been shifted. When Getslaf and Perry command over $8 million (Giroux is also expected to get around the same) then Fippula is 100% worth $5 million
  3. I am not too sure about that. He is good for 40 points or better a year and no top of that he is really solid defensively. If Antropov can get $4 million a year, Fippula can get 5. He is definitely worth 4, 5 might be a stretch, but in an open market he will almost certainly get it
  4. haha. Damn. Now i feel the fool
  5. So he played game 6 with A broken rib Torn cartilage Punctured lung Separated shoulder
  6. No, they go in the back of the hand or vein in arm crease (elbow region). Weird.
  7. Why would he be getting an injection near his lungs for painkillers?
  8. Bernier is still a prospect, he was traded for less than expected, but there is still risk involved with him
  9. Toews and Kane assisted on the late tying goal
  10. I'm pretty sure Stafford would be involved in the trade. I imagine something like: Toews and Kane for Stafford, Adam, 2nd, 1st and Sekera (cos you know, you need to give to get)
  11. I don't doubt what Kane can do on the ice. He simply has no off-ice attributes that are attractive. For the price it would cost to get him, i would rather get a lesser player with more all round ability and off-ice characteristics that could be built around. Also what sizzle said. Apparently the 4 times i explained it last time wasb't enough. Fifth times the charm
  12. I only watched 20 minutes of the playoffs, but i chose a good 20 to watch
  13. Toews and Kane both have a Conn Smyth - good on-ice leaders right there
  14. Chicago just stole the cup
  15. Toews and Kane are clutch shiiiiiiiiiiiit
  16. Toews is taking a beating this game. He is one of my favourite players in this league. I wish we had him
  17. So would the leafs
  18. I'm shocked he was let go for so little, basically a bunch of scraps - Enroth, Gerbe and a 5th would have landed Bernier
  19. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=674909&navid=DL|NHL|home Bernier for Frattin, Scrivens, 2014 or 2015 2nd
  20. This is my view as well - i see no reasn people are against it - we aren't going anywhere anytime soon but we still need to put an actual team on the ice. Not to mention the Oilers have shown how bad it is to make a team of prospects and just let them play. Devine said he thinks a team can only handle 1, 2 at the most, prospects per year for breaking into a team
  21. Ennis needs to gain weight - he is 5'9', which is serviceable (Shaw is 5'10') but he weighs like 170 - if he gained another stone he would be able to hold onto the puck for longer
  22. That's fine. He is good on the ice, if that's all you want out of your star players then yes he is fine. But for the cost i would want more. Also i would like him to be better defensively. I don't want puritans or Kane. I want Toews Also, in a league that rewards its star players with captaincy, i think it is telling Kane doesn't even wear an A
  23. Since the Crosby era began, could you please name a player who won the cup, was a key member of the team and was a (rumoured) heavy drinker? Kane is a good player, a very talented one, but that doesn't mean he is a 'hard worker'. To clarify, every professional player is a hard worker, you can't not be. But they are not all equal. Kane is talented but i have never heard anything good about his work ethic (c.f. Crosby and Toews). If i am trading my future for a star, i want a star who brings more than just on-ice. Leino said our locker room was ######, Pommers said our locker room was ######, Regehr said our locker room was ######. Kane isn't a player who would change that in anyway
  24. 1) Yes that is true, but with sport getting tougher and tougher every year there is less room for players to have liberties 2) Once again you have failed basic comprehension skills so i'll say it again - it isn't about Kane, Kane will be fine, it is about setting an example in the locker room, making everyone accountable for their actions. 3) I guess we just agree to disagree, I want a professional team that keeps everyone accountable and makes sure every member, no matter how talented works their hardest. You don't want that
