Amerks Afterthought.
According to their website, the Amerks have 10 forwards (I count 12-13), 4 defensemen (I count 5 actually), and 3 goalies. That does not make a complete AHL
team, especially not on defence. AHL teams don't have roster limits like NHL teams. And they have to rotate in "Veterans".
Maybe Kim and Terry forgot to tell GMKA that he had that role too since they fired Steve Greeley?
They have less than 1.5 weeks until faceoff.

Not to start another fight...the election results are unsettling so far, but at least I can say that I'm not feeling quite so alone this morning seeing that only one county in WNY voted for Biden(Monroe). Even Erie county seems to have voted for Trump. So this BB doesn't seem representative of WNY. Islander's country seems to be split (Nassau and Suffolk voting for Trump). Rangers country, well, there's no saving NYC; enough already, make them their own state. Just saying. 🤫

Touche'. Kane is HHOF, no doubt. Kucherov, Marner, & Pastrnak have had great starts. But do they really compare to Howe, Jagr, Kurri, Bossy, Mogilny, LaFleur, Hull, Garner, Selanne, Neely, ... even Gare, and Vaive ? I know that it's hard to compare eras, but RW had more prominence then. All things being equal, the centre wins. And Rossi's stats were better than Quinn's. I thought that we already had Reinhart, Tage, Cozens, (and Kahun, Olofsson, & Skinner) who can play RW.

1. Prayers do get answered. I prayed and prayed that Rossi would drop to the Sabres, and he did. But, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine them stupid enough to pass on Rossi. (Like I wrote before, this is a Ric Seiling, Brad May flashback).
2. The 1980's want their RWs back. The 2000's are a different era where RWs just are not the superstars that they once were. Name one recent pure RW superstar.
3. Some comparisons:
Marcel Dionne > Rossi / Briere > Derek Roy ; Rossi's floor is Derek Roy
LaFleur > Gare > Quinn > Goalofsson/Ray Sheppard? ; Quinn's floor might not even be a longterm solid NHL player.
4. Eichel doesn't need any more wingers. He already has 3! in Skinner, Reinhart, & Olofsson! Both Skinner & Goalofsson can play both wings well.
5. Many think that Mittelstadt is a bust and that Cozens projects better as a winger.
So how happy will Jack be without any secondary scoring?
6. Why aren't any of the media heads asking GMKA why the !@#$% he drafted Quinn over Rossi?
Drafting Quinn at #8 was such a total reach that smacks of total desperation.

Opposing teams target the top line (Rossi's), giving the second line (Quinn's) more chances to score. Rossi is the reason their team was great, not Quinn.

Olofsson should have been in the NHL from day 1. No one, AFAIK, on the Sabres came through Rochester. We had three AHL rookies of the year in a row for the Portland Pirates. exGMJBOT's big problem was keeping people in Roch too long "to build a winning culture". That's gotta be part of the reason why Pilut flew away. Nelson seems lost in the converstation, but he could've been a good 7-D in Buffalo; he was very good in Rochester, arguably their best all-around defenceman. Heck, NHL teams like Vancouver and Pittsburgh are playing our AHL rejects. It's all poor asset management: too much mediocre depth (4 RD starters and only 2 LD starters).

Kevyn Adams, Kruger (and JMTM) all seem much better skilled in English, and that's a good omen.
JMTM wasn't all rainbows and unicorns, but he got 2 #1 C's, a #1 LW, and a #1 G; JBot lost 2 of those for little return.
Gerry Meehan didn't have a huge hockey higher-up resume when he was hired (he was an ex-Sabre player and a laywer), and Meehan
got us Mogilny.
