He's got 1 year left on a team with oodles of cap room and just about everyone already signed. Also a M-NTC.
That's a steep overpay for a 40-55 point rental. Similar situation to Skinner, except Skinner was a much more consistent goal-scorer and two years younger than Mangiapane is now. That was a 2nd, Pu (not a top prospect by any stretch), and some filler picks.
what? Mangiapane is 28. Skinner is 32.....
His points are a bit lower than I expected though. Maybe a package deal with the Flames. They just seem like a team that could also use a shakeup -
11th + prospect for Mangiapane?

This is what it would take to get to the playoffs. Stamkos would not come here in a miiiiiiiillion years though.
I agree it's very unlikely he'd consider signing here

Please be Briere, but even more annoying to play against

They need to move for the simple fact of change for changes sake.
This is pretty much where I'm at. Sam Bennett would be a really nice add to the forward group IMO

adding Stamkos and Kane with their Stanley Cups would go a longggg way toward ridding the loser culture from this team

Stamkos 3 for 10 per.
Kane 3 for 4.5 per
-
Is Sam Bennett a UFA? Ekholm?
I'd target them, Marshessault, Stamkos, Kaner and heavily explore the trade market
I still would like a quality veteran goalie as well. -
Stamkos
P.Kane
Marchessault
Zadorov

Your point?
Would you as a Leafs fan be happy with that haul?
Tage + Power + 11 for Matthews.
Too much though.

Trade for Brady Tkachuk then have him convince his brother to accept a trade here
Cozens + 11th pick + prospects for BradyTage + Samuelsson + 2025 1st + prospects for Matthew
obviously not realistic....but this team needs a shakeup-

Kevyn Adams should dial up VGK and get the ball rolling on these FAs. Jonathan Marchessault's contract is the big talking point heading into the offseason. The impending free agent enjoyed the best statistical season of his career, netting 42 goals last season. An original misfit and Conn Smythe winner. Other impending free agents whose futures are uncertain are Alec Martinez, Chandler Stephenson, Michael Amadio, William Carrier, and Anthony Mantha.
I think Stephenson would look good as a Third Line Centerman in the Swords uni. He's got great speed and good at faceoffs too.
Ideally we can land Marchessault or Stamkos. -
Tage, Cozens, 11th pick and two good prospects
Too much ?

Stamkos? Pat Kane? I could see one of them being brought in
Marchessault ? Doubt he'd want to come here though

How about Peca for Associate HC and Jay McKee for Asst

Lindy ruff peaked 20 years ago as a coach and has done nothing sense. This is the laziest retread of a retread hire they could have possibly made.
I would've rather they hire the skeleton of Scotty Bowman. Is that how he got to be 5th all time in WINS in NHL history?
But, don’t let that stand in the way of your misery

Any truth to the rumor Ruff is insisting on making a strong push to get VO back in the fold?
VO as in Victor O. ? That would be interesting

anyone with a no trade clause will not come here. Anyone else will tell their agent to find literally any other team

Cozens. Trade him.
Enjoy the fans on the road with your new team 🤡
This is one of the most unlikeable Sabres teams in recent memory
This group being "shaken up" over fan related things tells you all you need to know-

the shakeup alone was a win. Byram appears to be a quality top 4 D

We the fans paid his grossly inflated salary by buying tix and watching on TV.
Shouldn't he be thanking us?
not to mention how "shaken up" the team gets from hearing booing and fire donnie chants
what a joke this team is-

Exactly. Giving Him a chance to win a cup since he wasted 7 years of his career on the Sabres.
He's a great guy and all.....but he got paid 6 million a year and really did not produce consistently

I consider him a net negative. Interesting how different we perceive his value.
No one else on the team is a consistent enough scorer

Intriguing proposal. I wouldn't be against that.
