  1. This is a question that is entirely dependent upon what kind of sandwich you're eating, where it's being eaten and which season it is.

Any warm sandwich should be toasted, sans veggies that can't take the heat (specifically lettuce but if you've got some broccoli rabe on there then that lends itself well to a little char).

I disagree that cold deli meats should not be toasted, look no further than the humble club sandwich.

Every holiday season I usually make a big batch of pickled eggplant for my family. Once it's had a week or so to cure I like to whip up a batch of eggplant cutlets and then throw together a sandwich of bread - cento pepper spread - eggplant cutlet - mozz or provolone - pickled eggplant - onion - tomato - lettuce - s/p - and maybe some mayo - other piece of bread.

It is by far my favorite vegetarian sandwich and you bet your ass that bread is toasted along with the eggplant cutlet and cheese.

We are 5-5-0 after 10. Last year, we were 7-3-0. But that's where the fun ended - we immediately began our 8 game losing streak at this point last year. So if we do better than 2-6-0 in our next 8, we will be in a better position than last year at Thanksgiving. Keep the train rolling fellas.

I've been thinking I'd rather have a lukewarm October instead of the hot starts we've had the past few years if that means the wheels don't completely fall off in November. Here's hoping this win streak keeps rolling.

With Biro in the lineup wearing #15, who is your favorite Sabre to wear that number? I'm partial to Dixon Ward. I know Jack wore #15, but he's not even my favorite #9 and he can also go pound rocks

    For the lazy:

"Other players to wear #15 for the Sabres: Colin Stuart, Dainius Zubrus, Milan Bartovic, Sergei Petrenko, Greg Brown, Randy Wood, Lou Franceschetti, Kevin Haller, Doug Smith, Chris Langevin, Adam Creighton, Geordie Robertson, Yvon Lambert, Rob McClanahan, Mike Boland, Gary McAdam, Michel Deziel, Bryan McSheffrey, Gerry Meehan."

Reading that list is a whose who of who's that?

Anyone not picking Randy Wood is simply lying to themselves.

  4. I haven't seen enough from Benson to warrant keeping him around after 9 games. I notice him more often than not when he's taking bad penalties or getting out-muscled instead of positively contributing to the team. I imagine that once Savoie's conditioning stint is over they'll bring him back to the Sabres and send Benson back down. With Comrie on IR maybe they keep both around while that last spot is available.

I’m struggling how this will “promote the game”

For casual fans, tuning into a broadcast that jumps between the most exciting plays from each game sounds pretty awesome to me. Hockey can sometimes be boring to watch, especially if you don't care about the teams and they're playing low-event hockey.

I think the league is not run very well and is always 8 years behind the times, but this is actually a cool concept.

There's a bbq place on chandler Street I believe that I've heard good things on but haven't been to.

Outside of that, fat bobs is okay. Haven't anything blow me away since I've been back.

You're thinking of Southern Junction and they recently moved to a new location. I came here to suggest them as I've heard it's really good, although I haven't tried it yet. I got a Big Green Egg a few years ago and I don't think I've gone out for BBQ since as I can now smoke my meats at home.

    It's a joke they're carrying 3 goalies.    FITFO Kevyn.

Seriously. I'm happy they're riding Levi to start the season, the pucks getting past him have largely not being his fault. I think he's only been beat clean by Panarin who was in the slot and put a really nice shot on net.

When they announced they were rolling with 3 goalies I expected them to have more of a rotation, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Whichever goalie is "3rd" on our depth chart would be served so much better racking up starts in Rochester opposed to sitting on a cold bench here.

If we continue to have 3 goalies, I wonder how many games into the season before all 3 have at least 1 game.
