I used to think Darcy had a plan but now I think he just has some sort of vague notion
thanks for the new sig. :clapping:

The first "week" is usually the first 1 1/2 weeks of the NHL season. Week one ends 10/13.
Thanks.
-
So when I go to make a player exchange it tells me I've already used my two allowable moves this week.
Aren't we into week two now, and shouldn't it be reset?

Loved Brad as a player, but he hasn't been the best broadcaster.
The man may have the biggest head on TV

Vanek leads the team with 36 goals, 68 points, re-signs for 7@$7 around the all-star break with the Sabres solidly in the playoff mix.
Miller is lights out, makes the Olympic team and is traded with futures for Ryan O'Reilly the second O'Reilly's offer sheet restriction runs out.
Sabres go on a late season tailspin and finish in 10th with 82 points.
Grigorenko and Girgensons have up and down years, each seeing time in the press box. Pysyk is the team's best rookie.
Rolston is suspended two games after John Scott glares at Sidney Crosby.
Risto jumps in as Colton Orr is pummelling Hodgson. Don Cherry says the Chicken Swede should let Cordy Hodgkins fight his own battles.
It takes 68 games, but Christian Ehrhoff registers a shot on goal on the power play.
Tyler Myers gets a zen tattoo.
Patrick Kaleta leads the Sabres in shorthanded goals, hits, blocked shots and the entire league in penalties drawn. Broadcasters across the league say there is no place in the NHL for players like that.
Tyler Ennis spoils a team bonding activity when he gets IDed in Montreal's party district.
Drew Stafford is told he will be given the C in games against teams with green jerseys. Rolston forgets Dallas has new uniforms.
Cody McCormick bruises his knuckles.
Mike Weber breaks his nose fighting a guy out of his weight class. He doesn't miss a shift.
The trainers refuse to handle Enroth's gear anymore, after yet another "coffee" incident.
McBain makes a bad pinch.
Foligno becomes legitimate NHL power forward.
Three games after returning from IR, Cory Tropp takes a souvenir t-shirt fired by a mascot during a west coast road trip right in the eye. He's out for the season.
People forget Porter is on the team.
Leino and Tallinder get injured in practice. This pleases Nikita.
Darcy lets Ott go to UFA to "prove I'm no Pegula puppet."
Flynn? Who's Flynn?
-
If he says IR, you click on him and an IR slot will open up below the BN list.
Thanks. Lots to learn in this, but I am enjoying the way it's set up. Slick like Gilbert.
-
In my case, I moved a player to IR opening a temp slot.
How do you do that. No matter what D4rk says, I'm the one with the injured Foligno.
-
A question from a noob: the transaction window shows two teams adding players without dropping others.
How?

And the #blueprint rerun continues.

When I say somewhat responsible for the current record (and I am assuming this refers to last year's 23-place finish) I mean it would have been worse without Ron. So far, I have liked what I have seen.

I'm Let the suffering begin
And am now good to go.
Good luck all.

Four games in and it actually looks like we have a defence.
Can't wait to see what we can do with a a healthy secondary.
EJ's inability to find a groove with Stevie is going to bubble over at some point this year.
But Robert Woods is going to be a great player for long time for us and I really can see he and Manuel developing into a Kelly-Reed combo once EJ completes his learning curve.
Bills are going to be a roller coaster all season, but they have been exciting and seem to have a good base of young talent.
I think better days are finally on their way.

For some reason I was completely unable to access my account. And I still am.
So far unable to get help from Yahoo.
I feel like Darcy with a fax machine. Really pissed about this.
-
Guys, it's not letting me in.
-
Given who has been auditioning the letters in the preseason, I'd say Weber is a longshot for the C
-
That was vintage 21st-century Bills football.
-
So the back of Armia's jersey was tucked in when he scored last night.
No goal?

While I think the anti-Vanek sentiments have merit, I also think they are more about the 26-year-old Thomas Vanek than today's.
I think he is ready to take this step.
-
If it's me, it's Vanek with Ott as his chief lieutenant.
The perfectionist and the no-holds-barred optimist
Doesn't matter to me that they are in their last contract year.
More importantly, it doesn't matter to Rolston.
I'd give the other A to the guy they would like to groom as the most likely leader among the young guys — most likely Hodgson.
-
Keep. He needs to produce a touch more offence than last year, but he's fast, hard to play against and can kill penalties.
I think he provides exactly what you want on the fourth line.
Saw a debate on another board about his penalty risk. Somebody pulled out a stat that showed for every penalty Kaleta takes per 60 minutes, he draws something like four from the other team. Sorry, I can't source it at the moment, but it does ring true.
-
Stafford has two years left at $4 million - not ridiculous for a 20 goal scorer, which, last year notwithstanding, he is.
He's hardly a desirable commodity but he's not untradable.
There's probably a dozen other underachievers with big contracts who we could get for him: David Booth, Ales Hemsky, etc., and he could probably be dumped any time for a middling prospect or pick.
The issue here is not that no one will take him, but that Darcy won't take what he's worth.

An interesting list here:
http://espn.go.com/n...rs/goaltenders.
Interesting to see Miller at 14 despite back-to-back "poor" seasons.
Bets on how long it takes reaction to devolve into the usual Miller-fest?
(For the record, I think Miller is going to have a stellar season and will be ranked much higher next year, wherever he ends up.)
-
I'm to the point that I'd be happier with Stafford meandering his way through a 20/20 season, than I would trading him for nothing and rushing Armia.
Then again, he could always play like last year.

Only took one preseason game toget this one back up, eh?
KALETA

Really?
If this was the NFL it would be inconclusive evidence. The ruling on the ice stands.
But it's Kaleta he won't be given any benefit of the doubt.
