I wish Ted's Tank in gold would either reject or accept my trade...
Dont think I ever even saw the offer. Sorry bud! I interface with the league mostly through the android app, the notification section leaves a lot to be desired in terms of standing out.

I can't wait, plain and simple. I was raised on the original trilogy trilogy by my dad, geeked over the prequals as a kid (although now i can see the fault that so many do with them) and i cannot wait to see where this franchise goes next. The falcon has never looked better, and the shot of the X-wings over the water?? Mr. Abrams, you had my curiosity, but now you have my full attention.

Blue managers:
Ottos Hooligans Last League Activity Sept 23
Paul's Peerless Team Last League Activity Sept 9
Gold manager:
Paul's Peerless Team Last League Activity Sept 7
Get looking at your teams now! Anyone that wants to take over any of these teams - please let me know.
Out of curiosity, what constitutes league activity? Ive been checking in multiple times every day on my app but set my lineups like a month and a half out about a week ago

If you wanna see some good hockey, the hawks just started putting on a clinic...

Correct. Because the donuts are crap. Some of the other chit is pretty good though but it is ALL about the coffee.
Idk man, those Honey Cruellers are PRETTAYYY good.

Im Happy with my draft, Extremely stong goaltending in Rinne and Elliot (heres hoping) and a solid yet flexible center ice. Good luck to everyone this year! Teds Tank Division is rolling all the way to #McEichel!!

I am planning to catch the Sabres/Panthers game down in Florida in February this year.
Any good recommendations of places to go before or after the game, unique to the area or connected to the Sabres?
Does anyone have any other away games on their agenda or have good away game recommendations? I'm looking to try catching some more away games in the years ahead and want to get planning.
Been to a dozen or so games at Verizon Center in DC and that was always fun (although their fans don't know squat so it's a bit annoying to watch a game with their hyper reactions).
The only away game I've ever been to was also in DC, and it happened to be the game in 07 when the Sabres clinched the presidents trophy. I'm inclined to agree with the hyper reactions comment as well.

No - it was out of the Gold. :)
Back to your original point - I sent you a pm with a link to join a minute after I wrote my comment to you yesterday. Not starting this year off any better than last I see. :(
You need to check your messages - maybe you'll find the ones from last year too! ;)
Hahaha, touche sir, thank you very much. Ill get everything set today. Cheers!

Not too mysterious since I always send a note or two along the way when i notice someone hasn't been active in a month or so. If you can find an hour each week you can get your Gold roster set for the week.
I sincerely never saw a note, but that doesn't mean you didn't do your due diligence. To me it was out of the blue, given my participation it was hardly surprising. Back to the original point though, If there's room then i want in.
-
I got mysteriously booted last year, assuming due to inactivity. Your final year of college can be a b**** like that.
With all that being said, i'd be more than happy to be back, let me know if theres room in either league, but gold is preffered.

Can we get ALL the picks?
Just throw in Luke Adam and a 6th to sweeten the deal.

i switched from an iphone 4s to a galaxy S5 4 hours ago. Pretty pleased so far.

Why not just move the otters organization here? Try it out for a few games here, move them to the fnc / harbor center next. I've always thought buffalo would be a great place for a major junior squad.

Credit Unions often rock. I just found out recently that many credit unions participate in a national network for "shared branch" so you can bank wherever if you're not near your own.
I'll have to look into that, i actually currently bank with ESL Federal Credit Union out of Rochester, but I'm not sure if they participate in any partnerships like this.
My only horror stories are with BoA, when I didn't live here, and with Key. M&T has been nothing short of excellent* and I know First Niagara enjoys an excellent reputation as well.
*I am biased. I owe my very existence to M&T, where my parents met.
Thanks for the disclaimer! I'll be working for Citi so I'm trying to avoid BoA as they are pretty much their number 1 competitor right now.
Avoid Key like the plague. I've been with M&T for quite some time now and have nothing but good things to say.
So no Key, and seems like M&T has a pretty decent rep on the board so far, nice to see as i was actually leaning towards that option to begin with!

So as a college student who lived in the area transitioning to a young professional, I'm finding myself in a situation where it just makes sense to switch to a larger bank in the area. I'll be working in the Getzville / East Amherst Area and was wondering if any of you would have any opinions or recommendations on who i should take a look at.
M&T and First Niagara are the obvious front runners in my mind, but i figured I'd pick the brains of my fellow Buffalonians regarding any positive experiences or horror stories that they may have had with banks around here. Any input is is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
PS. If this fits in a more appropriate thread, feel free to merge!

Haven't posted here in a WHILE, but just landed a job at Citi here in Buffalo! Pumped to transition from post grad life into the working world and stick around in the area for a while!

For those curious about him:
http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8470378
I like the move. If he challenges for a spot on the big club, thats one more young D man we can let get more seasoning in the AHL. I'm really on board with trying to keep as many of the top prospects down in rochester so they can get a feel for winning together. The Amerks can excel and challenge for a Calder, we can establish an identity as a hard working team in the NHL but will still most likely be sub par. Bring the kids up in an atmosphere of winning, move em up when the teams ready to do the same.

Does anyone know? are rankings derived just from the current logo? or are all logos taken into account?

I find it hard to believe that Murray couldn't, or didn't offer him something better.
He certainly could have, but we aren't exactly trying to be world beaters here. I think the most obvious sign that we are still attempting to "tank" is in our FA signings. We didn't have to stop bringing in players after we hit the floor, but we did. They aren't coming out and saying it, but their spending doesn't exactly shy away from the idea.
-
I disagree. How would the transition happen?
"Hey, it's Tim Murray. What would it take to get Evander Kane."
"Eh, probably more than the conditional seventh it would take to get Jordan Samuels-Thomas."
"Deal."
I have it from a legitimate inside source that this is precisely how it went down. [E5]

It is indeed a 3-piece offer, but it's 3 pieces that haven't come close to the NHL performance that Kane has, and the odds are that none of them will do so.
Even so, I agree that it's a steep price -- but I think Kane will be expensive.
I certainly agree with the performance part of it. My two issues are as follows:
One, I'd like to see CoHo on the wing. Really really REALLY badly. His performance on the wing seemed to increase his production, he could be an ideal 2nd line winger on a competitive team. He's a smart young hockey player who has a clear drive and desire to want to be better every single day. I like his skillset, i like where his head seems to be at, and i love his potential ceiling.
Two, perhaps most important in my mind, is what i believe this teams rebuild philosophy was. Net out. Our stable of Blueliners is one of the most ridiculous stockpiles I've seen in recent years in the NHL. Granted, it's all on paper, it projects to be a very deep, extremely talented group. I don't think it was a mistake that we had a full crop of D men before anything else. I'm not citing any specific article but it's often stated in many circles that D men take longer to develop and come into their own. If thats the case, Risto and Nikita will have time to develop while we start to pick up forwards. By the time everything is said and done, i think the idea was to have all these young guns peaking around the same time. Forwards seem to develop quicker so you pick them up after your D. In a crazy crystal ball kind of way, it really makes a lot of sense. I don't want to move any of Myers, Pysyk, McCabe, Zadorov, or Ristolainen for precisely that reason.
-
I would be glad to get Kane, but I wouldn't trade Myers for him.
I would give up Risto or Nikita, STL's #1 and Hodgson or Foligno for him.
I'm reading that as a three piece offer, and if that's correct then i think that's a pretty steep price to pay for a streaky player with alleged character issues.
-
I can't believe people want to trade Tyler Myers for young Drew Stafford.
Couldn't agree more. I seriously wonder if a tiny bit of the fascination has to do with the last name Kane. I appreciate the kids ability, its tremendous, but so is Alex Semins. Those aren't the type of players i want on this team moving forward. I want the hard workers and the overachievers.

Was very surprised to see wysh tweet this today. Sounded like it was on his terms from what i read and heard, so curious to see where he lands.
To anyone that has not listened to Puck Soup, it's a blast.
Edit: and MvsW of course
