  1. It's too bad Hodgson has put up zeros since his arrival but it's to be expected. He's a rookie. He's played more than he probably figured he would this year and he's been all over the map these past 3 weeks.

However, if the team hadn't blown it the other night, they'd be 7-2 with him in Buffalo.

Kassian is doing nothing in Van. The team is 2-5 with him there.

Sulzer has played well. Grags is sitting Sat night after posting zero pts and a minus 6.

Cody will be a better player long term. I'm sure of it. People have to step off the ledge. Again, the team has done well with him and it's all about winning.

  2. I don't like Grags game. He's all over the ice but doesn't impress me. Sulzer is a solid Dman. And he's come closer to scoring (post).

I'm telling you we got the better of this trade.

I said this in another thread but Hodgson must be tired. The Canucks went out East for a roadie and CH was traded after they'd come back out West. Then back to Buf for a physical, back West. Now back East with no consecutive days off. Just sayin

  3. I am going to disagree. Hodgson may not have been much of an offensive factor but he broke up numerous plays in our end that lead to breakouts from our zone. His positioning and ability to read the play is amazing.

All I know is Cody is plus 3 and has zero points, yet the team has 3 wins in a row since the deal.

Kassian has 2 points in a loss, and the Nucks are 1-1-1 with him in the lineup.

I'll take Cody's plus 3 and the 3 wins thank you very much.

PS Cody is essentially on a 9 game road trip right now. He is probably a little tired.

  4.

If he did that as a Sabre, he might still be one.

I think the canucks will let him be himself more than Buffalo did. He won't be asked to play nice but play his game while in control and not hurting the team.

Buffalo pussied him after his court date. I'm sure it will be made clear to him that he will be counted on to stand up for his mates in vancouver.

In Buffalo he didn't even dress for the sabs/ b's rematch. That told me something on the sabres' front.

  5. Should be an interesting game saturday night.

    And you could have gone!!!!

    Really glad we're still going.

Sabres win this trade. But Kassian will make sure liberties aren't taken and that could be enuf for the nucks to win it all. They were a game away last year and their team is much better this year.

  6. http://www.vancouversun.com/touch/sports/story.html?id=6045930

The coach doesn't come out and say it but when you watch games you see things. Little things.

But the start they had together probably tells the tale

Anf FTR he is not soft. He's fairly sneaky, good at gettin pucks out of feet and super aware of the ice. His vision cannot be taught. He has a great shot too. See tim thomas last game they played.

  7. Hodgson is putting up pts playing on the 3rd and 4 th line. He rarely has the same linemates yet still gets his pts. His avg ice is around 10 mins I believe. He's worthy of more.

The coach didn't like him and that's that.

Put him with Vanek and let them build chemistry for the final 20 games.

Don't waste him playing with checkers.

  8. Hodgson sees the ice so well. He's gets the least amount of ice yet has 33 pts

He has played with almost everyone and still puts up points. He got 30 secs pp time. He can play. But he's not fast nor huge.

The coach never warmed to CH. He can play.

The nucks needed a big guy to keep others honest. Sulzer is a solid player.

Shocked but happy yet not happy.

Vanek keep your stick on the ice cuz the kid will find you.

Gonna be fun this sat. Lookin fwd to it

  9. Say what you will about Myers, but the kid continues to impress. Yes, he's struggled at times this year, but a guy with his character and skill set is hard to come by. He's the future of this team. And I love his nerve. Most guys would have peeled off and defend and he just went for it and got the winner. Speaking of winning goals, he now has 3 of the team's 7 game winning goals.

  10. Good to see our expansion cousins in town.

So glad they finally went to the 2 game format between east and west.

At least we get to see the Sedins here once a year. (don't need to see Luongo though )

They only play the Canucks once this year. I was still under the impression it's one game home and then one game on the road the following year, and so on.

  11. Well, it was the perfect script for me. My Sabres got the two points, the Canucks got one, I'm thrilled. And so happy to see Myers get the winner. He's got balls, I tell ya. If he misses that clearance it's a two on one the other way with 20 secs to go.

Great win, although their start was poor. Lucky to score on their first shot.

Connolly was flat out robbed in the 2nd period late.

  12. Cory Schneider is 3-0 in his 3 starts, letting in 1 goal in each game

He has started 3 games and relieved in one. His stat line is impressive.

His first start, Colorado scored with 3:08 left in the third. 3-1 Canucks.

His second start, Minnesota scored with 2:35 left in the third. 5-1 Canucks.

His third start, he made 32 saves in a 5-1 win against Carolina.

    He's 3-0-0 with a 0.90 goals against and a .969 save %

I am hoping for the usual when my two teams play. A Sabres OT win so both teams pot points.

But I have the feeling tonight could be a long night for the Canucks. Just a feeling I get.
