I heard it too. Loved it!

My guess on Novotny: Separated shoulder or something collar bone-related.

How 'bout putting the 06-07 version up on the web so we could all have a look see?
-
Pisses me off that it won't be on in HD. It's the Versus national game, but it's not on channel 95 HD. Bastards!
-
Dude, remove all 600-699 channels that Sabres games may be on. That way, if you have the 700's in your channel listing, you'll get the games and not blank screen. Tivo always records on the lower channel.

Try clearing your cache. Right now, your avatar is of Ryan Miller in the right bottom foreground, and an overhead shot of him in net behind that. Is that the new one?

I think it crept into our boys' heads that they don't really need to win this game tonight, since they've wrested home ice away from the Canes. Our guys look like shiat tonight.

Saw elcrusho a bunch on MSG tonight. The Cup is holding up pretty well!

Both embarassments to the game were caused by the same buy, Jacques Lemaire. I said to my friends when NJ beat Detroit in the 95 Finals that their winning the cup would be the ruination of hockey. I hate that I was right. Everyone started copying the Devils and look what happened.

Dude, I LOVE your avatar. Priceless!

I've read this in the papers this morning, and I like it: "The Bruins mustered just three shots in the third period, and none after Dumont's goal." Great job boys. I've been very disappointed with the NHL linesmen this year. I have Tivo, and I'm a USA Hockey Referee, and I always notice offsides when it happens (can't help myself). I usually replay in slow motion and I'm usually right. I think you're referring to the third period last night when a big Boston DMan (Gill?) carried the puck sideways across the blue line and the forward was in ahead of the play. Linesman waved it good, even though Gill kept the puck on the blue line as the forward entered the zone. Hey linesman - the entire puck must cross the line FIRST! Don't anticipate! The linesmen's bad calls have been very disturbing to me this year. There are too many of them.

How 'bout the Sabres on TV, WINNING A FRIGGIN GAME, GDAMMIT!!!!! Just a little frustrated? I'd say so. I think you're frustrated enough for a 3-State killing spree.
-
Don't need to know about you stroking anything!
-
Yeah, and how many times did Ottawa beat the Sabres when the Sabres weren't at full strength? It goes both ways.

I like Frankenchara better than Charastein.

Hey Tallinder, if you're going to take a holding call, tackle the son-of-a-bitch! Don't leave his stick and his face free to bat the puck out of your goalie's glove. C'mon!!! Four friggin goalposts tonight. GDammit!!!

How is this NOT a penalty?
-
Kalinin has looked like azz lately. He can't handle the puck, misplays it more than he makes the right play. He looks nervous and tentative. 1. Briere WAS tripped and no call in the third. 2. Boulton knocked McKee down from behind, no call. Then he cross checked McKee from behind into the boards, no call. 3. Roy was flattened from behind when digging at Lehtonen, no call. 4. Afinogenov hooked leaving the defensive zone, no call. 5. Tallinder tripped and then flattened, leading to a Thrashers goal, no call. Piss-poor officiating tonight. Stupid penalties by the Sabres: Vanek slash about 5 seconds into a power play and checking Mellanby from behind starting a melee. Thomas - you don't need to be doing that stuff. You can play hard and be mad at your coach for benching you without taking stupid penalties. Biron slash on Holik after Holik flattened Kotalik. Stupid stupid stupid. The hit was clean. The slash was stupid. I'd like to know how Peters got 4 minutes and Mellanby, who slashed him, got nothing. Modry intentionally played the puck while heading to the bench with his replacement on the ice already. He kicked it away from Dumont to the center of the ice with his right skate. Should've been a penalty. Brutal. I won't even mention the awful linesman calls I've been noticing lately. Lot's of offsides are getting screwed up. It seems as though that crew had it in for the Sabres last night. Not saying that they actually DID have it in for them, but that's the perception.
-
I didn't see Vanek on the ice after the 3 on 1 while up 5 on 3 that resulted in nothing. I think Lindy was a little pissed about that one, as we all were.
-
I'll be at the game tonight. Section 121, Row J, 19 and 20. Great seats from a season ticket holding friend of mine. Anyone else going? Where ya gonna be?
-
They were complaining that they were so far away from the ice surface. I was yelling at them the whole game. Coupla morons. Can't stand that thick-azz Boston accent on Brickley, either.

Who writes this crap? Quote Carolina will return from the Olympic break on March 1 against Boston, while Buffalo will next play on March 3 against Toronto. Unquote Buffalo next plays on March 1st against Atlanta. If find this an intersting tidbit: ..It was the Sabres fourth overtime game in their last five contests. They've done pretty well considering how much hockey they've played. It's gonna be grueling down the stretch, but it will be grueling for everyone.
-
He allowed 6 goals? So was the score 6-3? He allowed 3 goals, and stopped 3 of 6 clear breakaways, 3 of 7 if you count the one near the end of the game. Lindy will never have a plan for the goalies. The shootout shows where not having Briere and Conolly really hurts. Those two are amazing on breakaways. If we had them instead of Pominville and Dumont shooting, I think we'd have won the game.

Looking at the pass from the top-view camera, the puck hit Huet's stick knob and deflected. That's why he missed it. He's lucky it's only a mild sprain. He could've done much worse. Maybe Briere comes back now to fill in. Sabres played crappy tonight. Every player made bad passes, and whiffed on several others. Just out of sync, I guess.
