  1. FROM ESPN ARTICLE: "Belichick, having always subscribed to the philosophy that it's time to go once an owner gets involved in football decisions..."

I'm wondering how Bellichick would have reacted working for the Pegulas?

Maybe that's why so many coaches and GMs bolt or get fired from Pegulas' so-called pro sports organizations...the owners are too meddlesome and treat the franchises like their own personal equal opportunity experiment.

  2. I don't want to keep repeating it but I hate the Pegulas with a deep down passion. They have brought this franchise to its knees with their stupidity and continued rookie mistakes. When you have a franchise that's in deep doo-doo, you don't go hiring a first time GM AND Coach. Damn those stupid frackers!

    (you've triggered me again PA)

  3. A day late and a dollar short

so TRUE. What really disturbed me about last night's game is all the missed shots that Eichel had. He must have had about 15 shots and at least half of them missed the net. That's not elite skill, that's frustration setting in.            I know he has been hot of late, but on a losing team (thanks to Terry and Kim Pegula) people get down in the dumps and want to escape the losing as soon as possible. But you wake up in the morning and although you're $80 million richer, you are still a bum because you are on a losing team that has no clue on how to win.  That losing team is going to continue for a long time. I think Eichel signed a deal with the devil.

  4. As long as it's a realistic cost, sure.  I think they'll be looking for a talent for talent trade.  In which, this is an "eh" proposition.

It would be a gamble but it could boost Reinhart, who has played with Duclair (and Domi).

  5. Please, somebody help me on this: so if the league didn't order the whistle to blow 45 seconds after the fact and during live play and the game ended, could the Islanders have challenged the"no-goal" call and have the goal counted anyway, even if it was challenged after the game?

  6. This is more the money quote:

"Everything is predetermined against us," Lehner said in Barclays Center. "It's not to be sulking or anything. We're not where we want to be or anything like that. It's just how it is. It's just how it is. The Islanders are in a playoff spot, and it is what it is."

I've been following the team since day 1 and pretty much agree with Lehner. The major leagues are against the Sabres and Bills. When the players aren't screwing up, bad luck comes in. When bad luck is delayed, Buffalo loses bad calls and endure no-calls and the only ones we get are the token calls. It is very depressing to fans and players that Buffalo always loses but to the NHL and NFL it's understandable. It's all about money.  There is no real money behind the Buffalo market on a national level. Leagues have to make money to survive. When push comes to shove, one way or another, Buffalo takes the bullet.  It looks to me that the current crop of Sabres players have pretty much submitted to this fatalism. Even when they play well, the luck and then the calls go against them. You have to look in the mirror and realize who we are and then you can put everything in perspective...We are the Washington Generals. We were born to lose.

  7. I'm trying to pinpoint the moment that this franchise went downhill. It has been a freefall since Pegula took over but I'm thinking maybe the beginning of the end was when Golisano eliminated the scouting department, which might have  been at the root of our scouting problems, setting us back for years.
