  1. I think that the fact that this is even a question for discussion (and a legit one) says all that needs to be said about the quality of the Sabres/Americans coaching over the past 5 plus years.

There's talent there to be developed. Part of the problem is this club is pi** poor at developing it.

Would people agree that the ability to develop young talent is an indicator of a strong organization?

If Buffalo could do this, we wouldn't be sitting around watching hockey in other city's arenas every May.

  2. Since this is technically a Sabres home game, shouldn't Sabres season ticket holders get first crack at tickets?

    1. Sabres Season holders

    2. Rangers Season Holders

    3. Mets Season Holders

    4. General Public

There may be some fine print in Mets season holder contracts that says they get pre-sale access to all events at CITI, but other than that scenario, there's a good argument for Sabres season ticket holders to get in on this early.

  3. me :p

Grigorenko put up more points, and has been playing top 6 at the end of the year.

Girgensons has 30 goals and 70 points in 202 NHL games.

Grigorenko has 12 goals and 41 points in 142 NHL games.

Grigorenko had more assists last season, but Zemgus the Destroyer had more goals (6 to 7).

On a separate note, someone mentioned in the Foligno contract thread that GMTM may have signed him to the 1 year to protect him from the expansion draft.

If that scenario is indeed true and it would protect Foligno, would the same stand for Girgensons?

  4. Gentlemen, lest we forget who assisted on Eichel's first NHL goal?

Not saying Foligno's role should be a permanent seat on the Jack and Sam line, but let's not act like he can't skate with those guys and contribute.

  5. What Darryl says is correct, Buffalo cuz:

    Jack

    Young team

Fish is agents to vesey And eichel

Sabres hands off no pressure approach was perfect

Top 6 minutes and pp minutes most likely with buffalo

Sabres drafted Fitzgerald, his best friend

Sabres salary cap situation translates well to 2nd contract

Buffalo 50 min flight from boston

Buffalo leaves it's stars alone - lower pressure

All 8 places have their good points. Vesey is a smart guy, no other place can match all these Buffalo positives

    Buffalo leaves its stars alone?

Ask Patrick Kane and Evander Kane if Buffalo is the kind of place a hockey star can fly under the radar. Buffalo is actually one of the few cities where NHL stars are A-listers.

I'm aware that you may be talking about on-ice performance pressure, but I don't agree there either. For example, the media used to be real critical of Ryan Miller not being able to deliver.

  6. I support Nottingham Forest, an English football club.

I have a a handful of Forest kits, which I bought without the sponsor. They're very nice.

The only kit I have with a sponsor is the mid-90's Labatt's sponsor jersey. It's fun to get drunk wearing that shirt. It can be sort of fun if the sponsor is the right one.

  7. Any announcements on television/web broadcast for these games?

The NHL Network ran full broadcast of the Traverse City Tournament for a couple years, but that fell off recently.

If we're interested in letting the Sabres Organization know we would like to see this televised, now is the time (as opposed to the night before).

I'd love to be there, but I'm an out of towner.

  8. I think it's easy to forget how young he is, seeing that he Was only 20 when he made his debut for the Sabres. Coming into the draft, he was projected to be a third liner, mainly a forechecking physical player who puts in work along the walls, and I think that is where he's headed. He has to work on his consistency, but seeing that he was a fourth rounder who has been contributing at the NHL level for nearly four years at age 23, I think that can be seen as a positive.

Next Steps: It's time for him to have a ten goal season and start skating some big PK minutes, effectively.

  9. Murray says that he has offers out to UFA Defensemen. Oduya is probably (hopefully) one of them.

My thinking is in line with Liger's. If Murray doesn't get exactly what he is looking for in free agency, then he's probably going to see what he can make work as a cheap and short contract stop gap (colaiacovo and Donovan). By doing this he's also giving untested youngsters a chance to show if they've got a future inthe NHL.

I am sure he's made calls on trades, but at this point he's not giving up the farm for one. They're not at that point in the roster building process.

    Patience.

  10. Enjoying a Horseheads Brewing Hot-Jala-Heim after a seven day work week.

Picked this up In April, while driving across the state after visiting my folks.

It's A good chile beer. I love all things spicy, but so often chile beers are a novelty. I feel like this is an ale first, and a chile beer second.

The only thing that would make this better would be not having to go to work tomorrow.
