This is going to be one of those games where you're going to have to hit the pipe early and often

Exactly, why bother with someone who gets into great positions and then whiffs on open nets. No wonder even D-men have started leaving him open!

There'll be nothing tonight from the Sabres as far as retribution or anything. It's a pretty loud crowd in the United Centre, leading the Hawks to score early in the first. The Sabres will slouch around on their skates for the rest of the game. Roy and McCormick will be the only Sabres out on the ice looking like they've come to play. Myers and Montador will consistently either lose the puck or ice it in the face of a strong forecheck. Vanek is going to be sulking around the net and getting shoved off every puck that comes by. Connolly will consistently manage to lose the puck in his legs. Gerbe and Ennis will buzz around skating like they're playing pond hockey but forgetting to put the puck on net. Nothing-goalie Crawford will look like a MVP and we'll lose 4-1 or something. What would be the odds on a 9-way parlay bet on this? 3 to 1 at most? It'd be great if even one of these wagers is off wouldn't it?

does anyone know a link or site where you can get news on starting goalies, who's playing, who's out, etc? like usually the Buff News blog has the Sabres info, it would be great if there was a site that collated the info for all the teams

all you said was you had some folks on the block. didn't hear a peep out of you what you were looking for. what did you expect, i was going to give you Backstrom for Kopitar? i was giving you Antropov who once again will outscore Connolly, and i was giving you a starter on your blue line cos yours looks worse than the Leafs.. oh wait, you do have a Leaf on your D.. anyways, see you week 14 when Connolly is leading the league in points

thanks for moving the draft to 9p, i really appreciate that! yeah with 16 teams and fixed slots, this could be very tricky. i foresee lots of runs on positions, and by Rd 4 all the studs and ol' reliables will be gone.. at that point on it's all about gut feelings and depth charts this should make for some even competition, maybe it's time to start doing some research eh?!

Saturday 9pm would be great if you could move it, I should be ready at the computer for that. I like that the slots are fixed - on ESPN Fantasy the F position is open to all comers, C/RW/LW, so I was able to load up on Centers who picked up tons of assists. Glad I cleared that up with you, that should make the drafting more interesting, as if having 16 teams is not already wild and wacky enough!

No ayes or nays yet eh? During the Bills game might actually be an act of mercy, something to keep your eyes away from the tv screen. Also, with the forward designations of 2xC, 2xLW & 2xRW, are those strict when picking a starting team, or are we just picking any 6 forwards?
