No clue if the Brady Tkachuk rumors are valid but he’d be a fantastic addition. High character player that can play playoff style hockey — something this team is sorely lacking.

    My offer would be:

    Quinn + 11OA + Rosen

I would replace Quinn with Savoie and Joker. Unfortunately I don’t think Brady is coming here

A Blackhawks site proposed a 2nd and Aiden Thompson for Skinner; so I played with that as a premise

Skinner isn’t waiving ntc for anyone except Toronto

    There are two relevant lists.

    1. FAs who can help us and want to come here.  This is not going to be a list people here really want.  These are all going to be 3rd and 4th line forwards and depth D.  I also don’t think KA will give out a big FA contract.  So far, since the Hall fiasco, Clifton is his biggest ($) and longest outside FA deal.  I’m not expecting anything larger this summer.

    2. Players available in trade without NTC/NMC.  Again a difficult list.  I think we’ll have to shopping at cap strapped teams, but it’s not going to be a long list.   Another requirement is the guy having some term (1-4 years?). The other part of the list could be an RFA a team can’t afford or isn’t a good fit on his current team.

The only player I’ve found so far that fits our needs and who could be available is Anthony Cirelli. The issue with Cirelli is the 7 years remaining on his deal, which is probably too much term given the depth of our forward prospect pool. I’m sure there are others, but how many?

Looks like another off-season of scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

UFA in the NHL is fools gold. We need to trade prospects and picks for players.

On the food side you and I are doing similar stuff.  On the activity side I'm doing mostly bicycle riding and "yardio".

I've dropped 25 pounds in just under two months.

    Ozembic?

  4. Pegula has a lot of pride and wants to win as much as we all do. The problem is he doesn’t know how to go about it. He has hired a variety of people in management and coaching that haven’t worked out. Currently he has hired Adams as GM. If you think he is incompetent, I disagree with you. I think Adams has done a better job than Granato and I think a coaching change is in order.

If he can return to his playoff form, we will have a Stanley Cup winning Top Pairing Defenseman to play with Dahlin for years to come.

Otherwise we just dumped our finally solid Mitts for the defensive version of Tim Connelly.

To me this trade tells me either or both of Jokiharju and Muel are going to be moved out.

I think Muel gets traded to Calgary as part of package for Tkachuk

I'm very confident that my position of no on a Power for Tkachuk trade is the right position to take. For me, it is not only the right call but also an easy call. Adding an inconvertible knucklehead to the room at the expense of a talented young defenseman with a lot more upside is a mistake that will become more evident as time passes on. You have been in the work world for a long time, as I have. A jerk is a jerk who disrupts the balance of the group. You don't have to be a bad person to be a toxic person that has a contaminating effect on those who work in the same vicinity.

With respect to Power there is a misconception about him as a player just because he is not a banger, and neither is Samuelsson. He's big and strong and can skate. He's going to get better and become an anchor defenseman for us for a long time. He's not as flashy and stylistic as Dahlin. They are simply two different types of players. But there is no doubt in mind that he is going to be an instrumental player for us for a long time. Also, if you add in the fact that he is a good kid, this becomes an easy call for me.

Power is a very young Victor Hedman

Even so, it means if UPL falls off we are literally without a goalie for the present and future.

You’re acting like Levi is a sure thing.  There is no evidence that he will ever be better than UPL. He may,  but if that what it takes to acquire a tough superstar, it’s worth it.
