My biggest complaint, as an expat of WNY, is the size of out-of-state restaurant's wings. Paper clip size. But Frank's is Frank;s , so I just order more. And if they ask me if I want Blue Cheese or Ranch, I have to hold my temper. They may think there is a a choice.
I have also had the opposite experience - Wings so big they don't fry right, the sauce-to-wing ratio gets thrown off, and I can't even finish a dozen without supplemental oxygen. This is fairly common in today's world of mutant factory farm chickens.

Any Rochester peeps want to chime in about our wings? Not sure if I have a personal fav but I enjoy wings from all these places:
Jeremiah's
Distillery
Fairport Village Inn
Pontillo's
Mark's
Someone on Twitter mentioned TK's wings in Fairport. Their pizza is other worldly but the wings might be the worst I've ever had. It's like 2 cups of butter with a splash of red hot. The wings just sit in a pool of butter. Whenever I order them (which is rare) I throw them in the air fryer and sauce them myself. Nasty.
Dirty Dave's in Scottsville. Very unique hot sauce and they take the art of frying very seriously. They will deliver your desired crispiness with pride. They have had great wings under the radar for decades, since it was D&Ds. It used to be a real dump; I would still classify it as a Dive Bar, but in a good way. Dave has cleaned it up a lot. I just wish he had kept the shuffleboard table!

Depending on how they calculate income, I may or may not get it. But either way, I work in agriculture and business in booming. My job is safe and I feel extremely fortunate. I don't need the money and I can't believe our stupid government thinks this is a good use of $2 trillion, when we are already over $10 trillion in the hole. For that kind of money, they could provide health care for millions of Americans. Or maybe just get us some friggin' masks and COVID tests, already. If I do get the money, I will likely be donating my cut to some key political campaigns this fall.

The Sabres were great that year, but I don't think there was any denying the Rangers their cup in '94.

Working from home now for a week. Been doing a daily 2 mile walk with my wife to burn off the stress. One of the nice things about this event is all the people outside again in my neighborhood. Kids on bikes and skateboards or just playing in their yards and parents walking, running or cycling. I even saw one dad playing 4 square with his son. It feels like summer in Buffalo Circa 1983.
I've also been binge watching some series on Netflix and Prime.
That's really cool. It's amazing what a crisis can do for the public good. I remember life during the Ice Storm of '91 in Rochester - Everything goes back to basics, neighbors help each other out, and it's the best time in a lot of ways. It ended up being one of the fondest memories of my youth!

Kinda hard not to be better than last year.

Nothing like a good schadenfreude thread to help ease the sting of another bum season.

He looked slow last night, but I would take Wayne Simmonds in his 50's over Evan Rodrigues in his prime, any day of the week.

I didn't have cable TV when I was growing up in WNY in the 80's and early 90's, then I moved out west for a while. So I didn't see many RJ games prior to the mid 2000's. My favorite calls since then are Scary Good, Who Else?, and the Ottawa brawl. There hasn't been much to get excited about since those days!

The Sabres have to pay Ehrhoff $857k every year until 2027-28... that’s ridiculous!! Good job on that contract Darcy!
Oh my God, I just thought about what it would be like to make $857K per year for the next 8 years, and not even have to go to work.

I always liked TV a lot as a player here. He scored some beautiful goals and generally made the team fun to watch.
I just thought it was a huge mistake to build the team around him when Drury and Briere left. He was never going to be that kind of guy (and didn't have to be). I didn't want to see Vanek go, but at that point they had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to just blow it up and start fresh with four freaking first round picks. Eight first rounders if you count their own! Then Darcy's pride got the best of him. And now, here we are.

Is it me, or is this an especially active deadline day for the NHL? I checked in on the Trade Tracker, and was surprised at how much action went down today. Usually it's a big disappointment.
-
Win-win. Sabres get a much more promising player than the ones they traded away, and Pittsurgh gets Sheary, who played better when he was there. Not sure what Evan Rodrigues gets out of this, though!
-
At half his salary, I guess it couldn't hurt. I'm guessing at the very least he'll be a good vet to have in the locker room. I love Wayne Simmonds' game in his prime, but I think he may be past it.

This topic is already being discussed in the "Top 10 Hated Sabres" thread. Someone call a Mod.

The last 5-7 years have actually been far better than the 15 prior. Remember such luminaries as Jiri Novotny, Mika Noronen, Marek Zagrapan, Dennis Persson, Artem Kryukov, and Erik Rasmussen?

Wow, give MTL credit. They slapped a fresh coat of paint on Scandella and flipped him like a raised ranch with mildew damage.

OK, remember when they had Ryan O'Reilly and Evander Kane on offense and they still suckt?

Someone needs to get fired. This was billed as a make-or-break 10 game stretch, and the Sabres came out and crapped themselves. This team stinks, still, and I don’t see anything on the horizon that could turn it around. Cozens is only one guy, and he’s 2 years away. Eichel will force a trade by then, or be granted one by way of mercy. Waaaaah.
-
I'd be all for it if the return was big. I like Dahlin, but I don't see the generational talent level that would make him untouchable. Eichel flashed much more potential at the same stage. There is also a lot of depth on D in the organization at the moment, whereas the forward situation is absolutely grim.

On a more serious note, the state of the Sabres is especially frustrating because you know the Pegulas want nothing more than to build winning teams in Buffalo. I think they are really trying their hardest to get it done, and have certainly shown they are willing to pay for it. It just takes a little luck and good fortune, too, on several fronts, and they haven't had much of that luck on the hockey side of things. Then you look at the Bills, where a lot of things have fallen into place, and you see the proof that they can do it.
I believe that as long as Terry and Kim own the franchise, they will eventually have success.

I'm not too optimistic. It seems like for every Olofsson in the Sabres pipeline, there are 5 Mittelstadts. High picks who just fizzle. There are just not enough good, young players with proven NHL-caliber ability. It's a lot of really bad outcomes with top prospects for a really long time.

Finally! I was getting so tired of them being third-rate.
