Look forward to hearing the anthem tonight….hope he still uses the organ as accompaniment. I don’t know why most don’t have music in the background as I think it makes the anthems better.
The guy in Chicago is still my favorite….really gets the arena going before the game.
Yes, I'll make sure to tune in. I'm hoping that he becomes the permanent singer again. The Sabres anthems have been terrible, I wonder if they even audition them or just send the singers out. Someone called the Sabres Anthem singers the "Americas Got Talent Auditions", these need to end. I'm sure there are better, but I'm not sure we've seen anyone better in Buffalo since he stopped.

I'm not sure which was worse the Sabres or the america's got talent anthem singers this season. Tonight's audition was especially bad. Bring back Doug.

I only watch for the national anthems, now I am done
And they are usually worse than the Sabres play. Bring back Dougie.

How many times did Chris Kramer practice the Canadian National Anthem before tonight
That might've been the best rendition of both anthems since Dougie left. No bad AGT audition from this Kramer.

I thought Buffalo had some bad singers. That woman made most of them sound good.

Please, please, please bring back Doug. The warblers that they've replaced him with are just awful.

Please bring Doug back. I tune in to watch a hockey game and a bad episode of Amerca's Got Talent breaks out. Please bring Doug back.

Why can't the Sabres find a anthem singer that good.

Worst announcers ever. I'd listen to the radio but it's too out of sync with the TV.
Do they ever stop talking!

She's a warbler that thinks its a America's got talent audition. She tends to add notes and slide up to a note instead of hitting it. Just bring back Dougie!

Might be one of the worst anthems ever. Gold pants and boots were interesting.

I missed the Sabres games, but I don't miss the anthem singers. Just bring back Doug and put them and us out of misery.

Anthem shouldn't be sung at all at private sporting events but these ones are better than the last
Is that back-to-back goalies playing their first career game?
Just bring back Doug. Warblers are terrible.

That Athens was brutal
I hope we don't have to listen to that all year. Brutal and long.

I only hope the Sabres play better than the anthem singer could sing the anthem. Given the Sabres are down 1 as I type this, I guess not.

Ouch on the anthems.

I've been considering DirecTV Now which is their streaming version of DirecTV. Not as many channels but much cheaper. According to their site they offer MSG as part of their package. They also have a cloud-based DVR if that's of interest.
The last time I checked they didn't have local channels (I live in the Roc area too) but perhaps this would be an option and perhaps you could get rid of one of your other services. They're service can be picked up via Roku as far as I know.
They added MSG last year a month or so into the hockey season. I couldn't get the Buffalo version of it through their app, but I could login to MSGGO and watch Sabres games that way. That may have changed now as I don't watch MSG except during hockey season. They added the Rochester local channels last week. It runs on some of the Roku devices, but their latest version no longer works on my Roku 3. Their app works well on a firestick or fireTV. I've used the DVR some and haven't had any issues with it. The app has gotten much better since they rolled out version 2 of it and the periodic updates also seem to improve it now.

The StL pick is top 10 protected and I'm not sure about the SJ pick. Can a pick that is protected like that be traded since it's not known what year it will be available? Until that is known of course.
-
The question is how do things get fixed? We do not have much cap room for next year and there is no pipeline of talent coming from Rochester other than Ullmark and maybe Guhle. Right now, we only have one first round pick (should be top five), and it is possible we will not see this pick playing for the Sabres for at least a year or two. If you trade O'Reilly and/or Reinhart, do you get equivalent value or players that can play now? Probably not. This is going to take years to fix. We are not the Devils or the Avalanche, teams that made relatively quick turn arounds.
This is where I'm at after yesterday's activities. Botterill turned over 10 players on the roster and we are significantly worse than last year. What player has gotten better over last year or during the season. We have a core of Okposo, ROR, Reinhart, Risto and Eichel. The 1st 3 maybe too slow to compete at a winning level in today's NHL. Risto seems lost a lot of the time. Eichel is on his second significant injury in 2 seasons. Optimism for next year is based on a draft lottery win, signing college free agents or the Kane trade was addition by subtraction. I'm struggling to see a way forward that leads to improvement any season soon.
-
I was hoping that the Kane trade would provide the assets to spark the improvement of the Sabres. Obviously we didn't get that. Coupled with the inability to trade any other player on the team seems to show just how far away the Sabres are from competing. GMJB brought in 10 new players and we got worse. Outside of Guhle, Ullmark and maybe Middlestadt the cupboard is pretty much bare of prospects to help next season. Hope for improvement comes in the form of hoping for a lottery win and some useful scraps from free agency. I don't see this team making the playoffs any time soon. Which comes first: playoffs, fire the coach or fire the GM.

Who knew women's cross country skiing could be so exciting. I was out of my seat watching this one...

Amazingly one of the better events to watch. A great comeback by the skier and the announcers were great calling it. And it all happens at a relatively slow pace. Gives plenty of time see in detail what is actually going on.

Per Hamilton tweet, it looks like Petersen is turning pro.

From Friedman
Hearing NYR AGM Chris Drury wont interview w/BUF. Sabres asked. Rangers consulted Drury, but decision was: not yet time. A future GM, though
And Drury saves the Pegulas from themselves.

It's amazing how quickly the agent was able to hook Eichel up for an interview with the Snooze and how quickly and vehemently they take exception to the report. Seems a bit over the top.

Please bring back Doug. His version is so much better than any others they have come up with.
