Observations: Sabres blow another lead, lose to Kings as Eden’s Iafallo nets game-winner

‘Eden native Alex Iafallo had the last laugh against his hometown team, scoring the tiebreaking goal with 6:19 left to give the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 win over Buffalo before an announced crowd of 12,101.’

Sabres Notebook: Big weekend for Alex Iafallo capped by game-winning goal

‘”I’m just trying to get to good spots and play each zone as well as I can, try to help the team in a lot of areas,” Iafallo told The Buffalo News in a previous conversation over the weekend. “Penalty kill, blocking shots, whatever it is. And sure, you’re trying to score goals and get a bunch of shots on net and try to create offense, too. I’m just trying to do a lot to keep my game going higher and higher.”‘

Sabres start fast but lose to Kings; Don Granato makes changes

‘The Sabres’ defense kept getting caught flat-footed and often looked lost around goalie Dustin Tokarski. The Sabres took three penalties in the third period. One led to Anze Kopitar’s tying goal. The other two came in the final six minutes, stymieing their chances of knotting the contest.’

Sabres’ road opponents dealing with COVID-19: ‘It is nerve-wracking’

‘“It does seem like it’s escalating all around us,” Granato said on a Zoom call following the Sabres’ 3-2 loss at Staples Center. “It is the way we’re all living at this point. I think we’ve all adjusted to it and it looks like we’re all gonna have to keep adjusting to it.”‘

Iafallo caps Kings’ rally to beat Sabres 3-2

‘“We’ve been successful at getting the leads but can’t find a way to hold them, and I think that’s a big learning step for us,” Sabres defenseman Jacob Bryson said. “If we want to win a lot of games in this league, that’s something we’re going to have to take into account.”’

Kings come back to defeat Sabres

”Western New York native Alex Iafallo scored late in the third to give the Kings a 3-2 lead. Bjornfot and Kempe each added their second assists of the game on Iafallo’s fourth score of the season. Buffalo was plagues by penalty trouble all third period long. After falling behind by a goal the Sabres were penalized twice.’

Opinion: Three observations: Sabres falter late, drop two points against Kings

‘The only difference between Sunday’s game from Thursday’s game is the Californian team won the game.’

Opinion: Sabres tripped up in Los Angeles

‘In this game on Sunday, Rasmus Asplund and Victor Olofsson staked the Sabres to a 2-0 lead. However, a parade to the penalty box, along with some sloppy play and running around in their own, end cost them three unanswered goals.’

Sabres go cold late in 3-2 loss to Kings

‘Rasmus Asplund’s point streak was kept alive with his first career shorthanded goal. Victor Olofsson added his team-leading fifth goal of the year a few minutes later. At the other end, Dustin Tokarski made 31 saves, but it wasn’t enough for the victory.’
