Rasmus Dahlin’s injury sets stage for disastrous finish to Sabres’ road trip

‘Dahlin suffering a concussion set the stage for a disastrous ending to the three-game road trip.’

Lower-body injury forces Evan Rodrigues out of Sabres lineup against Tampa Bay

‘The Sabres recalled center Jean-Sebastien Dea with Rodrigues unavailable against the Lightning. Dea has excelled in the faceoff circle during his 18 games in Rochester and provided Krueger with another right-handed option at center.’

The Wraparound: Tampa Bay Lightning 5, Buffalo Sabres 2

‘The Sabres (11-10-3) lost two of three games on the road trip and are 2-8-2 in their last 12 games. They allowed two shorthanded goals in a 43-second span during the third period, and their penalty kill had another goal against. Additionally, defenseman Rasmus Dahlin missed the third period because of an undisclosed injury suffered during a second-period power play.’

Elbow to head gives Sabres’ Rasmus Dahlin concussion

‘Cernak wasn’t penalized for the hit, which occurred just after Dahlin passed the puck. Dahlin left the game and did not return.’

Sabres recall Jean-Sebastien Dea from Amerks

‘Right now, the Sabres have four injured forwards. They dressed 11 forwards and seven defensemen Sunday. Curtis Lazar, a healthy scratch against the Panthers, was their only extra “spare” forward.’

Lightning get 2 short-handed goals, beat Sabres 5-2

‘“Right now, we’re just worried about Rasmus and getting him healthy, and hoping it’s not a long-term injury,” Buffalo coach Ralph Krueger said. Krueger added that “it’s better for me not to judge” the hit right now.’

Rasmus Dahlin injury update: Buffalo Sabres defenseman leaves game vs. Lightning with concussion

‘Skating in the offensive zone, Dahlin had the puck in the left circle and made a pass to the halfboard right before defenseman Erik Cernak sent a blindsided elbow to the 19-year-old blueliner’s head.’

Sabres struck by Lightning, fall 5-2 in Tampa Bay

‘Though the Sabres weathered the initial storm that was the Lightning powerplay to begin the period, things got mighty ugly with about eight-minutes gone.’

The Sabres implode in Tampa Bay

‘On the power play you would think the Sabres would be up and ready to go. They’re only down a goal and are pressing and skating well. Forget the fact they are 1-for-31 lately on the power play, just show desperation and take the game back. What happened instead were careless passes and a team that played like a losing team. Cedric Paquette scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway and then just 49 seconds later, Ondrej Palat gets a layup on a shorthanded 2-on-1 and the game went to 5-2.’
