‘The same problems that plagued them in Stockholm followed them across the Atlantic Ocean. The Sabres’ power play went 0-for-3 with only five shots on goal and their penalty kill allowed two goals, including one with 3:54 remaining in regulation to give Carolina the lead. Additionally, Buffalo “went flat,” according to Ralph Krueger, during a stretch of play that resulted in a two-goal deficit.’

In a blur, Rasmus Dahlin’s first 100 games are in the books
‘”It’s my second season and we’re 18 games in. It was just summer. It all goes so fast,” Dahlin said. “That’s why you have to enjoy it. I was looking forward to going to Sweden for almost a year and we’re already back. Crazy really. It’s all so fast, you’re not even thinking it’s a hundred games.”‘
Sabres’ Marcus Johansson to miss three games with upper-body injury
‘Johansson, who signed a two-year contract with the Sabres in July, has four goals among 10 points in 17 games this season. Hamilton scores in OT, ‘Canes hold off Sabres’ late rally
‘“Pretty angry. Not happy,” Skinner said. “I don’t know if too much has changed. It’s a tough league to win in. For the most part, a lot of those games, we’ve been in the majority of them. We just haven’t found a way to make the big play at the right time.”’
Vladimir Sobotka injury update: Buffalo Sabres forward out 4-6 weeks with lower-body injury
‘The 32-year-old was injured in a Global Series game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 8. He was following through on a shot in the offensive zone without the puck when Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov delivered a low-bridge hit, sending Sobotka over his back and onto the ice. Sobotka remained down while trainers came to tend to his injuries and help him to the locker room.’
Hurricanes drop the Sabres, 5-4 in overtime
‘With the goalie pulled in the final minute of regulation, the Sabres brought pressure into the Carolina zone, and it eventually led to the game-tying goal with 40.7-second to go. After a flurry of action in front of the Hurricanes net, Skinner collected the puck and threw a shot to the net that deflected off Larsson and through Mrazek to tie the game at 4-4 and send things to overtime.’
