PASabreFan
December 13, 1972 In perhaps the most memorable game ever played at the Aud, the Sabres beat and beat up the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins, 7-3. The Sabres overcome a 2-0 deficit in the first period to extend their unbeaten streak at home to 16 games and end the Bruins' unbeaten streak at 12, but the highlight of the night is a fight between defenseman Jim Schoenfeld and Wayne Cashman. The pair crash through the Zamboni door and slug it out on the cement. Schoeny also takes on Carol Vadnais and Bobby Orr, who fights Larry Hillman as well on the Sabres' bench in a tussle that ends up with the two on top of head coach Joe Crozier. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
