There is something close to mass hysteria about the incidents involving objects hitting windshields on route 390 in rochester. From what I can recall only a couple of these incidents have actually involved windshields breaking but the rest seem to be hysterical drivers calling police when something hits their car window. Now, at least once a week I'm stuck in traffic as their are cops and helicopters searching the area for someone allegedly shooting BB's at cars. Maybe I'm wrong and will have to eat crow but I think this whole thing is lemming behavior. Someone hears about windows being shot out on a particular road, now every bump, crack and loud sound turns into the mysterious 390 BB bandit. Time will tell but I'm calling this ######. Ottosmagic13 Posted June 9, 2014 Report Share Posted June 9, 2014 I hit this the other day, didn't find out till I got home that it was probably the "BB Bandit Scare" as you call it. I'm not on 390 for work often, usually just 490 and 31/31F but the other day a student cancelled on me and I took a different route. There were 2-3 cops cars up on an overpass, a SUV and K-9 UNIT SUV on the shoulder and a helicopter down the way (although that might have been the news' copter). Thought it might have been accident but there was only one (non-police) car on the side of the road with no visible damage when I got up there parked just past the overpass, lady was talking to an officer off to the side. .
