Ottawa vs Kings 2001

But it was the fight between Allison and Hnidy that got everybody prepared for a brawl. Three minutes after the Buchburger-Roy tilt, Allison punched Hnidy in the mouth.

The Sens were upset with the sucker punch, while the Kings thought that Ottawa was going after their star player.

Then, with 5:22 remaining in the period, a brawl started when Roy and Potvin decided to tangle in the Los Angeles Kings crease.

"We're not going to let one of our best players get abused," Kings coach Andy Murray said. "And we're not going to let our goalie get punched in the head."

A bunch of hockey rules that Murray doesn't seem to understand.

1. Don't run star players.

2. If someone runs your star player, you fight back. (Corrolary: If you run someone's star player, expect them to fight back)

3. If someone stars beating on your goalie, step in and fight face to face. (Don't take a run at theirs after the whistle.)

I don't think that Bryan Murray was Ottawa's coach back in 2001.

He wasn't... That isn't the point he was making... Murray should still know it...

What if somebody did that to Gretzky in his day?

Marty McSorely would have been all over their arse... Just as BFLO was on the Sens...

What BFLO did is and has always been the law!

If they would have done nothing... It would have just re-enforced that teams can walk all over out team, hurt our players, and push our team out of contention!
