  1. if that's the case, i'm glad we kept biron because if miller really let that bother him he's SOFT.

personally i disagree with the premise. i think it's just a little slump. i expect biron to satart and play well tomorrow, which in turn will do wonders for miller's "confidence."

If our D wasnt pinching and creating odd amn scoring chances, he might have had a better chance. But not his best game.

  2. wow, what a goal. i am really impressed with this team. after such a poor start they have scored 3 straight. when was the last time a sabres team was able to play competitively in Friday home and Saturday away games. The saturday road game was always a guaranteed loss. Let's hope this continues cause if they win this game, watch out Eastern Conference; this team won't be stopped.

No doubt! i saw the score 2-0 on espn ticker, and thought oh crap its over, but these guys dont quit. I love it. Its like they arent from Bflo!

Is this Hecht's first game back?

  3. BUFFALO, N.Y. -- When Pat LaFontaine first learned the Buffalo Sabres made plans to retire his number, his mind raced back to his childhood. Growing up outside of Detroit in the 1970s, LaFontaine looked up to Montreal's Guy Lafleur and Buffalo's Gilbert Perreault.

Before Friday's game against Toronto, LaFontaine's No. 16 jersey will join Perreault's No. 11 in the rafters of HSBC Arena.

"To have my jersey raised up next to one of those guys is pretty special," LaFontaine said. "As a kid, you always look up and see numbers and you see names. And you never think at the time, even when I was playing, that something like that would ever happen."

LaFontaine showed similar flashes of speed, grace and production in his 15-year Hall-of-Fame career. Playing junior hockey in Quebec, LaFontaine broke Lafleur's record of a point in 40 consecutive games.

LaFontaine's career numbers -- 468 goals and 545 assists for 1,013 points in 865 games -- came during seasons with the New York Islanders, Sabres and a final year with the Rangers. A series of concussions forced him to retire in 1998.

  4. Didnt see or listen to the game, and the write up on cbssporstline was short.

i Did notice we outshot them 15-8 in the third, too bad we couldnt put it away. BUt a nice W nontheless, particulary in light of our play against them this seaosn.

Lookks like peters knocked the bejesus out of mccracken.

We are DAMN GOOD! Go Sabres.
