And also, who is out there advocating to be easier to play against. It goes without saying that you’re trying to improve your roster and you want to be more difficult to play against. Or maybe it’s just so damn hot down here in Florida that I’m getting the palm tree madness and I can’t think clearly.

Ehlers was noticeably bad in the playoffs. I watched every game

It wouldn’t surprise me whatsoever if on day one or day two of Jarmo being on the job that he told Adams to ship JJ out now while he still has high value (lowered because of our current league status unfortunately). This organization has enabled a ridiculous attitude of entitlement among this young contingent we’ve created. I’ve said this before, but it’s been a massive organizational failure on our ability to psychologically analyze prospects. And things like valuing high offensive potential over the ability to play two way hockey and also the desire to do it has contributed greatly to this mess. Kevyn failed massively with his experiment to go super young and try to build them all up together. Might have come closer to working if he had been able to psychologically analyze these players and realize that they are the type to become entitled. I’m assuming a Tuch extension will be coming soon because he’s the type of player you actually want on your team. I hope we get rid of Quinn soon as well. Now that Kevyn has a babysitter, I think we can start shaping the team into one that actually plays as a team effectively.

This is one of those trades where Kevyn has to just sit there and take it from everybody deservedly so. But this is a great trade for us in my opinion. It’s time we build a ***** team that plays like a team instead of having a bunch of young talent/potential floating around acting like they don’t have to play two way hockey. I’ve watched Florida closely over the last few seasons as most of us have and a guy like JJ is nowhere near their starting lineup. He doesn’t want to be a true NHL hockey player. He just wants to score goals and make plays. I’m telling you all that I’ve watched JJ very closely because I’ve had a bug up my ass about him for years and he is the laziest most entitled player I’ve seen at his age especially.
-
Get Quinn tf off this team also. Another liability as a two-way player and the guy looks like ***** Bambi now. Can’t stay on his feet. Another soft first rounder that can’t come close to living up to the expectations. Sell him on his high offensive potential just like JJ. The only cup Sabres are ever gonna win jk…

I honestly have never liked the core of young players we’ve had and have been skeptical of what they’re capable of as a unit. I had hope around the 2023 season but I knew we still needed several other players that could bring what’s needed especially come playoff time. These are soft, entitled, young dudes who got paid way too early. And we still have the ones that I actually like like Thompson and Rasmus. I honestly did not like JJ and I watched him specifically the last couple years anytime he was on the ice and he was the laziest player I’ve ever seen
-
I commented on pretty frequently in the game threads about how JJ was on the ice and often involved in terrible goals against because of his laziness. It may have gotten more pronounced toward the end of the year where he had already given up, but I’ve noticed it the whole time he’s been a player here. He’s had a noticeable entitlement to be honest. Like he’s too good to even attempt to be a two-way player. Everybody’s focusing on the offensive potential, but the guy has been a liability on the ice the entire time he’s been here. I want a team that plays like a team like Florida not a bunch of entitled first round picks. I would make the argument that he’s genuinely part of the problem and I don’t really care that he’s gone. Might not be the best argument, but it’s my argument.

Damn wow haha. Yeah my (relative) youth is showing.

The Bills kind of were too for a little bit, especially for the Pats. If they can graduate to the champions league, so can the Sabres one day.
-
I meant how do you do it successfully? Well, what better place to come to than a team with all depth players like us?!
-
Seriously though how do you come back from back to back Stanley Cup losses?
