  1. Sabres seem to think they can just dipsy doodle through the defenders and set up play in the offensive zone. What happened to hardwork? Goose's play to block Fleury's clearing attempt was a classic example of hardwork creating goals (even on the power play). They are a fast skating talented bunch, but this isn't the All Star game; you're going to be hit; you're going to face tight defensive battles. There seems to be a lack of work ethic. Way too many losses of 50/50 pucks all over the ice.
  2. Montreal most likely has their white vintage unis on. It'll be a classy old school look tonight... minus the mismatch with buffalos pants and helmets.
  3. A player's plus/minus is increased by one every time his team scores an even strength or shorthanded goal while he is on the ice. Whenever the team is scored against while at even strength or on a power play when the player is on the ice, his plus/minus is decreased by one.
  4. I'm watching the Center Ice Package with TSN Coverage. Pierre McGuire has been interviewing players on the ice during commercial breaks. This is the 1st time I've ever seen this. He talked to Fisher after the Neil goal and then Pommer while he was huffin and puffin after killing the 5-3. Pretty cool to get the players' perspective in the heat of the action.
  5. It's only on the main camera too. Whenever they switch angles, everything is fine. Hopefully they figure it out for the 2nd period.
  6. How bout Stafford's hit on Bouwmeester. That kid wants a permanent spot. I wouldn't be surprised if he scores goal #1 tonight. He seems to be reading the play well. Vanek almost had the puck to him when he was open streaking to the net.
  7. Still hate the Leafs... and reminder that we are still in November and rolling. PLENTY of time to get it together. There's a huge BIllS game...hahahahahah... never mind. I love it that everyone hangs on each Sabres game. Hockey, makes life go round... keep it rolling! Can't wait until June.
  8. Powerplay points don't count towards +/-. That's why last year Drury and Campbell put up a lot of points, but were - on the season.
  9. Kotalik also scored a lot of goals while Briere and Dumont were injured last year. His role changed in the playoffs too. He was hitting everything that moved. I agree that as long as he brings a complete game, he'll be contributing AND eventually put some tallies on the board.
  10. Hahaha. Ya, no hangover. That's why the Canes had a 2nd opening night. They're going to celebrate right on to the golf course this year. Great to see the Caps light them up. Ovechkin with 2 goals and Semin with the Hat Trick. Ovechkin is great for the NHL. Plays with so much passion.
  11. Right you are. I think that the Sabres ability to capitalize on the opponenet's mistakes gives them the edge. It played a large role in beating Ottawa. The only game they didn't close was game 4... but had plenty of opportunities. I've been waiting for it, but I think this is the breakout series for Big Al Kotalik. He's been playing hard and thy hockey gods shall reward him for it with some big, big goals!
