    Agree.

In some earlier thread I posted about Gerry Meehan. As Sabres GM in 1989, he was instrumental in helping the first Russian player defect from the Soviet Union to the Sabres, Alexander Mogilny.

My comment was I didn’t think Adams had the audacity to do anything even remotely similar.

Somebody gave me an eye roll. Hahaha. Must be an Adams fan. After five years, I’m not.

One of my HUGE problems with Adams is he seems to feel that the Sabres are an unattractive destinations for players, and they probably are, but the GM should NOT feel that way. I feel like that governs (or limits) what he's willing to try to do. He seems to accept that it's very hard to lure people to Buffalo because the org is viewed as a joke (partially because of him) so he doesn't really try to make any splashy moves. We need somebody who says "***** that" and is willing to, and has the BALLS to go after those kind of players. Adams ain't that guy.

  2. As long as this man is in a position of power this cannot be viewed as a serious hockey organization.

He sealed his own fate when he whined about palm trees and taxes. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. "Good players don't want to play in Western NY so why even pursue them?" I think there's also some shell shock from the Taylor Hall debacle. That was the one big FA he was allowed to sign and he was garbage before being traded for detritus during the same season.

This franchise is going nowhere as long as a jellyfish like KA is making these decisions. We need somebody with vision, fortitude, and most importantly BALLS to do the job.

  4. Not that I was expecting much of anything, but *fart noise*

Lyon is...meh. I'm sure he'll be fine like Anderson & Reimer before him.

I'm glad they re-upped MacLeod. He's a good, speedy two-way 3C. If he can contribute 45-50 points, that'd be great.

Danforth is probably a 4th line upgrade on Lafferty who was useless.

Letting JBD walk after he played reasonably well is ***** dumb, but not surprising for KA.

Don't see anything that makes us much better.

Still a lot of runway until the season starts, so I suppose more moves could be coming but nothing to be overly optimistic about today.

I like the guys they got.  Whether or not it’s equal value is irrelevant to me. The team needed a culture change.  Getting bad players (Dylan Cozens) or offense only allergic to defense players (Peterka) off the roster in exchange for engaged, physical players is a win in my book.

If JJP didn't want to be here, then yeah, get rid of him. I don't have a problem with either player that came back, just feels like it should've been more. But it's Adams, so I guess we should just be happy he didn't screw up worse.

Going home for a season. That's a good move for Edmonton to free up (unless retention in play) $5M for defense/goaltending.

For Vancouver, they get muscle, and maybe a longer-term hometown discount extension to wind out his career as a 3/4W. There are worse grinders out there.

VAN is taking on the full salary.

  7. Dahlin, Tage, Tuch. That's...about it.

I'm all outta hope. This is a poorly constructed roster and (mostly) the same group isn't going to suddenly become a good hockey team at this point. They are what they are. The only path I see to improvement is that Jarmo has more say in the roster construction and HE is at the head of some moves this summer. There is talent here, has been for a couple of years; we need to move out some of the redundant pieces and get some good veteran players in here that better complement our current core. Maybe JJP is the first piece to start that process, but it sucks losing a young wing who appears to be on track to becoming a near ppg player.
