  1. Yes that garbage went out of the league years ago. Seen Reeves, another guy who should not be in the league, hitting Hedman which begs the question...Hedman is not overly physcial and certainly does not fight or even hit that much yet he is huge and plays very well. On this board lots criticize our defense for being small or not hitting yet Hedman and Tampa get by quite fine without him being all that aggressive. Seems to me that both Hedman and Tampa have won some nice hardware recently no? MInd you Tampa are pretty dirty at times.

And little Bryson is playing very well this year so with the good young prospects we have on defense maybe trade a d-man for a physcial forward who can actually play too...oh and  I would like Boone Jenner too please

It was pretty funny, but I found myself wondering if this was Buffalo, if we were in New Jersey's spot and Rempe had run idk say Benson and Peterka for argument's sake and then he'd taunted us like he taunted New Jersey's bench what would we have done? Sadly, I think the answer is nothing.

The first fight was Vesey Lazar, ex-Sabres.

Big brawl...yawn. Of course there is no one to challenge Rempke on the Sabres. And to be honest I really do not care. I would have liked us to keep Marcus or get someone to fill that role when needed for sure however.

Alex Nylander scored 2 more last night..

Now with 10 goals in 17 games since traded to Columbus (48 goal pace over 82 games)

Another ex-Sabre who goes on to play well?  The guy had numerous chances with various teams and really good players and did nothing. Now with of all teams Columbus he is suddenly the sniper that he suppose to be with the Sabres? Strange...

Amazed how the Leafs keep outscoring other teams while getting really good goaltending from yes three goalies and with a awful defense and a coach that is so similar to Meatballs. No system...just go out and outscore the other team. They look like the Sabres did towards the end of last season. At least they are exciting to watch, as the Sabres were last year (not this year...dull, boring and uninterested most games it seems)

  4. Unlike most on here I like Skinner and he is clearly a likable guy that also scores 30 goals which is something this team needs badly. The contract is what it is...overpaid but then there are lots in the NHL (and al other pro sports) who are overpaid. And last year Skinner looked so muc better as the team around him looked so much better. We as Sabre fans are obviously uptight and tired and pis*ed but thsi was very funny and classic Skinner!

  5. Instead of buying a 30 goal scorer out why not use that money you'd be paying someone to not play to get a new coaching staff? TP is paying coaches to not coach so what is one more coach on the payroll? Or, for that matter, just move Meatballs to a assistant and hire a real head coach. Then immediately fire the assisitants and let your new head coach add who he wants to run the power play. 0-6 against Toronto is simply unacceptable.

  6. So tired of the same old same old...even I have to admit that this is getting really sad. I am generally a positive person and have tried to stay positive while most others breath hate and negative talk here but I am starting to think that if they do not make some sheious changes over the summer then we can truthfully say that this is a 100% complete mess. I do not think that even though they are in fact the youngest team in the league, that time will suddenly transform them into a playoff team. They clearly need help behind the bench and on the ice. I know that most of you hate most of the team but the fact is there is talent here that a good coach would have a good time turning around rather quickly. Please do not try to tell me that Philly has more talent on their roster. Not even close...but they have Torts...

  7. Just like the Sabres, never know how Laughs wil play. Some nights they are good but other nights there are pretty bad. Strangely their coach is kinda Meatballs clone...nice guy but bad coach with no defensive system whatsoever. Their defense is old and slow for the most part and I can see Boston putting TO out again this year. The Sabres need to come out flying but of course after playing last night who knows what team we wil see?

When were they "real good" this year? You mean that one game against the Leafs?

I loved when we smoked Vegas (oh and then we beat them in Vegas 5-2  as well)...and we beat Colorado and the Oilers in a game where we had to beat them twice. There were other good ones as well...heck we even beat your beloved Bruins twice

  9. Strange that we all kinda agreed that last year if the team had had competent goaltending they woul dhave been in the playoffs easily as they lost manyt games last year from sheer poor goaltending. This year, they have had good goaltending from UPL for the most part (certainly from the beginning of the new year) and yet they are worse then they were last season. I woul dhave thought they would have a  significantly better record yet they have regressed badly. No excuse for that.

Many clamoured for better defense, but where has that got us? I preferred last year's team that was at least exciting win or lose. This year they are just boring. I am so ready to see a new coach and the team bringing in some grit an deven a fighter if need be to bring some kind of life an denergy to the ice. They sure could have used that last night. I was tired of the fighting but at this point if it lifts the team and brings some energy then so be it...

  10. Crazy how the "good" teams keep losing to "not-so-good" teams; case in point...Colorado lose at home to Montreal while Edmonton lost to Otttawa a few nights ago. Tough to try and figure out who will win on any given night these days, which I suppose os good for the NHL. Also points to the fact that on those nights when we think the Sabres are "not showing up", it may also be a case of the other team wanting it more and/or playing a kind of system that shuts down the Sabres.

  11. Isn't it his contract year? How many times have we seen that...player has huge year gets big contract and all life happily ever after (except of course their production then drops way off and they are traded for a bag of hockey pucks and someone to be named later to Arizona with some other team retaining half the player's salary)...

  12. Boy Calgary sure are a mess...and they can thank the wonderful Treliving for that...who of course was fired then imediately hired by the Leafs like he was some sort of GM -God...funny how GM's and coaches get recycled over and over.

On another note, this was a goo dwin and they are still methemtically in the hunt though Washington is really pushing hard. Would have to beat the Caps both games we play them in April for any chance. I do worry that thus wil only give cause for GMKA to spew how th eteam showed promise and were "almost there" and it'll be another year of Meatballs and his merry clan of assistants (oh man that is a scary thought...)

  13. The pressures that those "enforcers" faced game after game, of knowing that they had to fight the other guy who was huge and dangerous, clearly was a big reason why they would rely on booze and/or drugs to keep them from completely falling apart from that pressure.  To say that taking numeruous punches to the head does not lead to eventual dangerous repercussions is absurd. I get that some of you defend fighting as "part of the game" to support your agenda but you should go out there and try taking on some guy that is 6'6" and two hundred and fifty pounds of muscle. Mind you I still find it amazing that Tie Domi, who took numerous nasty punches and laughed, is still seemingly "normal" whatever that is...

  14. Same old "boy the other team sure played bad"...I suppose some think that is the only way the Sabres can win a game apparently. Funny never heard a thing when the Sabres played absolutely horrible and that was the only reason Detroit beat us. I like to think that when this team is playing they make the other team look bad. They have proven they are a very good team when they are on. I love when they just steamroll over teams. They do have that abiility and have even done it to good teams such as Vegas and hav ebeaten Colorado and Oilers so it is no fluke. Sometines it is hard to know which team will show up mind you but they are still a young team and learning to win.

  15. Ah man I hate the thought of Seattle or Vancouver or the Oilers pissing on our parade...I do not think we have even beat the Kraken yet have we? And Oilers wil b elooking to avenge us beating them recently. I also think we have no hope with Comrie in goal. Maybe Levi can help us through this stretch? Worth a try...
