  1. Sens.. that's funny. My five year old always asks me who the guys in "the other color" are. When I tell her, it's "Go those guys!" The loser makes the ice cream cones in my house.

No big deal. Sucks to watch 'em get their arses handed to them. I guess that's why the playoffs are best-of-seven.

    -Jeff

    :D

    Something to smile about Jeff!

I am following this horror through the "Official Super Stats"....

    Any news on Henrik?

    :(

  2. I'm betting broken fibula. That sucks. Slew foot by Heatley. Why doesn't someone cross-check him in the face to make him pay.

I'm starting to agree that our team is a bunch of pansies. Will someone please hit someone? Anyone?

    Wow... Any news on it?

    Ugly, just ugly...

  3. Ya... It is as ugly as it gets guys... Least they broke the shut-out and can run for the bus and home for a game and game this weekend... I know I don't like saying that... Crap happens!

You knew it was coming after a great 1st and nothing to show for it... It usually does...

I don't like losing too the Sens... Got shelled last year too in reg... But, look at the bright side, let them have their fun, karma is sure too reverse itself with these dudes come playoff time... The can't keep on streaking winning... It will catch up, have faith.

The good news is that they will be steaming by the time I see them play in Chicago next week... Well, hopefully!

I just had a feeling when I read the PS's history for today... 27 years ago... The Sabres beat the Red Army 6-1... I just had a bad vibe about this game... My 4 year daughter kept on sayin' "Sens" all day!

    :(

  4. C'mon ... admit it ... who said something about the shutout right before that goal? Whose wife walked in to the room with 5 minutes left and said 'Oooh, Miller has a shutout, huh?!?"

Great effort tonight ... as bad as the shots were in the first period, I never felt like they were playing HORRIBLY ... the last 40 minutes were very good.

Wow, can't believe they got this pic ...

Same here about the 1st... Seemed they were in the Candy 'Canes' end a lot...

What is this supposed to mean?:

Funny, actually hysterical how they captioned that photo...

Buffalo Sabres' Maxim Afinogenov (61), of Russia, fights with Carolina Hurricanes' Justin Williams (11) during the second period of the NHL hockey game at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y., Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006.

    (AP Photo/David Duprey)

How long has Max been a Sabre? And they say "of Russia"... Like that is suppose to mean something?

Like the "bad dude from Moscow, Russia".

    or:

Look, Russian finesse players can fight big bad guys named Justin (N. America) too!

  5. ahhh nothing like max kickin the crap out of justin williams :D i couldn't help but laugh

    Great pic above!

    Ya, it cost him five...

I am glad he got into the scuffle... See, you can skate fast, score, look good, and still fight so you don't have to be the other teams little b*tch!

Max... Must have been reading the board and my "wimpy Sabres" comment... ;)

No if we get Danny to lay off the spearing and put lay down some knuckle samiches... The rest of the league will take notice!

  6. Not too big of a deal. Miller made some big saves tonight.

    Same here.

Just a little miffed because it was a SHG with under two... AK's PS goal made up for it... That is the third SHG given up in three straight games!

I am in the middle about the shutout or not... No biggy I suppose... On one hand it would have been nice handing the "Candy 'Canes" the season sweep with a shutout...

On the other hand I hope that their break in concentration with under 2 left thus spoiling Ryan's SO bid makes the team trash the Thrash on Sat....

    :D

  7. There will not be any "payback" against Ovechkin, but the Sabres win big 6-1!!

    What are you, psychic?

    :D

On 12-2... The Caps score 3 in under 8 minutes... The Sabres "up" them and score 6 in under 11!

    Take that Washington!

    Nice payback Slugos!

    :nana:

  8. 11 out of 14 games today were taken by the HOME team today.

BFLO and DET were lucky to come out with a point on the road...

Ducks got blanked (0-2, two very late goals) by a weak team and Calgary went down hard (1-4)...

Given the Christmas break... There is no surprise that the road team "ran for the bus"...

Sure I would have liked BFLO to get 2 points... Ya, they could have played better. I will ease up on this game...

  9. Look at it this way... I don't blame the Sabres for this one... They got a point...

Here is why... It is just before Christmas and teams on the road want to get home!

Every home team won today except 3... MIN (home) beat DET in OT (3-2)...

    The home losers were:

Philly... Because they flat out SUCK... Got blown out.

Toronto... Need I say more?

And Florida... Lost to Wash in OT... Do they celebrate Christmas in South FLA?

And the only game left... Home team and VERY GOOD San Jose is beating a GOOD Calgary team...

So everybody cut them some slack!

As "slumps" go... This seems to be a very small... Yet... I understand that this little "nick" the Sabres have could fester into something large!

Just relax and enjoy the ride... Without wondering when the other shoe will drop...

    Till it Shines Boyzzzz!

    :D

They will continue to think it, as evidenced by so many recent efforts, until Lindy does whatever is necessary to cause them to rethink it. He certainly got Vanek's attention last season.

Ya... Sorta agree... Lindy's gotta be careful too, don't want a mutiny... These guys work...

You see Peters in on the bench and NOT SCRATCHED...

    <_<

  10. Sabres impressed with their own talents too much again tonite---must have got an inflated opinion of themselves after the game in Nashville....

This team has got to stop thinking they can just show up and win the game and actually play hard every night...

Maybe they play like this so teams take them lightly and then WHAM-O... The Sabres strike!

    ??

    ;) ;)

Oh well, +1 point... A good Christmas because a sure Sabre win would mean the Bills are doomed tommorrow... The Sabres lose in OT... Sets up a Bills win... Best of both worlds!! ;)

Even the high-flyin' Ducks were blanked 2-0 against a poor PHX team that IS NO BETTER THAN THE BLUES... I still place the Sabres even (maybe down a point/half game) with 3 games in hand v. the Ducks... Still both (Ducks and Sabres) the cream of the league!

And really Hecht goal thingy would have made the diff! Eff the ref (Toronto review)...

Tallinder @ -3  ... Ouch! But, what can you expect after 2 months off with a major injury?

Honorable mention and Happy Holidays as I like to thank BOS and WASH for beating the Habs and Leafs too! Ya... It is the Bruins... Sabres enemy is a friend today! :D

Now GO BILLS and Fins (  ) AaaHem, sorry... Jets lose... and Happy Holidays to all!

  11. This is driving me crazy. In the third the goal lamp came on. The goal was waived off and play wasn't stopped which led to a break to the opposite zone and resulted in a goal (all the backcheckers were out of position).

    A) shouldn't the goal lamp stop play?

    B) Does the Montreal goal count if the Buffalo goal counts. I think not because there has to be a center ice faceoff after the first goal.

Either way, what the hell was that?

Why was it waived off and disallowed? I couldn't watch... What was the deal on replay?

Like Bm said above they had to review it and not count it? That is why they allowed the Hab goal... THe play was still going...

What a bummer and back breaker :death: ... Just shows you to never stop skating till you here the whistle!

Would that have been the tieing goal? Or was it when the Habs had a 4-2 lead?

  12. Hey, I said 5-2. :)

Oh yeah, I was mentioning earlier about pucks from the point somehow getting through Miller, and we again saw it in the third. It's really starting to creep me out.

He is a waif  ... He needs to put some pounds on... He'll blow away out there!

    I can give him some... ;) ;)

  13. Working waaaaaay too much. Only been able to see 5 or 6 Sens games so far this season, the rest we try to throw on the radio in the kitchen, but doesnt usually work out too well. Can i get my screen name changed btw? Hopefully next sens/sabres game i will actually be able to watch and come over to give you my take on it...

You livin' in Chicago Marty? Maybe we can "do" the town and take in a game on Jan. 10th?

    :D

Chicago is a very remarkable town... You wanna hang with "clean cut" guys like myself... Guys like Tank Johnson in that... A..Hmmm... "Other" sport ins't the way to go!

Just funnin' ya Marty! Since your return and Denis Savard's dumping of Trent and move behind the bench... The Sabres v. 'Hawks game should be a tough one!

    :nana: :nana:

  14. Meanwhile on this day in Sabres history... The injury depleted team prepares to play the Carolina Hurricanes in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals... Winner will take home the Prince of Wales Trophy and represent the east for the Stanley Cup against Edmonton, winner in the west.

Game 7 will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina where tickets to the game can still be bought, sellout it looks not. Displaced and relocated western New Yorkers and southern Ontarians living in North Carolina are urged to attend the game and cheer on the home town boys!

Report has it that the arrogant 'Canes and their fans are holding out to buy Stanely Cup Finals tickets, putting champagne on ice, and trash talking their "barbarian neighbors" to the north.
