  1. good hard working period for the sabres... I missed the 2nd goal though... tech support call for my new laptop (its an alienware... i'm having trouble activating my online account so i can get to the driver downloads, the computer kicks MAJOR butt though)

Nice purchase Corp, those comps rock. I hope you're taking all the necessary protective measures. My friend has a $3500 AlienWare lappy that runs like a Gateway because he didn't.

  2. This game can't come fast enough! I'm sick of the analysis and overanalysis of the Ottawa game. If Buffalo goes into a tailspin and loses more than three or four in a row, I'll start getting worried. The only people who should be dwelling on the blowout are the ones who have to skate in front of their home crowd tonight. For the rest of us, let's just pretend it never happened and have fun welcoming the weekend by watching the Sabres beat the Pens tonight.

  3. I'm betting broken fibula. That sucks. Slew foot by Heatley. Why doesn't someone cross-check him in the face to make him pay.

I'm starting to agree that our team is a bunch of pansies. Will someone please hit someone? Anyone?

I don't know how many times (not just tonight) I've watched other teams' players taking second and third swipes at Miller after a whistle with no response from any Sabre.

And if Tallinder's out for a while again, I smell a mediocre couple of weeks.

  4. I'm probably stating the obvious, but it looks like Emery will once again be in net for the Sens tonight. He's owned the Sabres this year (3-0, 4 GA) and in regulation in general (7-1-1, 2.47 GAA). Man, what a bust Gerber has been for them. Almost makes me feel bad for them. Almost. ;)

Prediction: Ottawa tallies a quick goal in the first but Buffalo has a monster second and wins, 4-1.

  5. It was a boring, tight-checking game, but the Sabres did got two things right: Miller was fantastic and the defense neutralized Kovalchuk and Hossa (who was a non-factor). Great games from Gaustad, Briere, Max and Vanek. Campbell had a rough one. Overall, a solid win.

  6. This is a big test. Right now, I think there are only two teams in the East that could win a seven-game series against Buffalo: Atlanta and Montreal.

Ottawa may just squeak into the playoffs this year (at least it appears that way at this point), but I'd add them into that mix as well because the Sabres haven't proven they can beat them.

  7. The most key of the stats I saw at any point during the game was (I believe) early in the third period when an MSG graphic showed the Sabres had 13 giveaways to the Canadiens' four. THIRTEEN giveaways? To FOUR? We're seeing way too many soft passes, long passes and stupid backhand passes. Make sharp, hard passes directly to your teammates' tape. They teach that in pee-wees for cryin' out loud!

  8. i think the sabres come out huge in the 3rd... i'm very impressed with kotalik too. wow, he's been hustling tonight. a goal and an assist to show for it too.

Without speaking too soon, Kotalik has impressed tonight. He's actually playing hungry for once. And Gaustad has been everywhere tonight.
