Iron Mike certainly wouldn't put up with the laziness and lack of heart that we have been seeing. Given the Brett Hull and Denis Savard Feuds there is a concern about how he meshes with Jack but those guys were established superstars whereas Jack is still a wannabe at this point.

Was just thinking that we could be watching Zay breakout. Playing with confidence tonight

Watson tore his ACL in non-contact drill today. Done for the year
Damn shame. I've really enjoyed watching him this year. The progression that started with that first long scramble against Cincy in week two to now has been incredible.

NHL.tv seems to be moving me slowly backwards in time. I'ma go ahead and blame hotel wifi for now..
Same issue at the Courtyard by Marriott, Lynchburg. Tough one to swallow in a town like this

Yep. Eichel's best game as a pro. Played a complete game & you just knew he was going to wind up w / the puck on every battle.
This is where he can really set himself apart from some of the other young superstars.

ROR won a puck battle and made a tape to tape pass!

save of the game

Scandella's been excellent.
Jack with some nice work in the D zone.
Great players find a way to impact every game regardless of point production, Jack is doing just that with his defensive tenacity tonight

Someone needs to start tracking how many times Girgensons trips over the blue line a la down goes Hartnell

Kane flying through the nuetral zone like that is exactly how he needs to be used

Nolan is a warrior and our only player to have lifted the cup. Young teams need guys like him.

There have been a few examples where solid young vet defensemen have moved into a lager role alongside a young stud D and it has helped both players excel. Think Stralman and Hedman or Karlson once Methot came over from CBJ. I know both are a little older but Paul Martin has played a massive, often uncredited role, in Brent Burns' explosion over the past couple seasons.
Here's to Scandella being that guy for Risto.

Another book to consider is The Ballad of the Whisky Robber.
It is the true story of Atilla Ambrus, a backup goalie turned bank robber in post-soviet Hungary. It's an interesting and often hilarious read.
