At the start of the season I wrote that I would be happy with a team that could compete every night. I had bought into the tank, and I was going to be patient as the young team grew together. Now, F that. How many posts can one team hit? I would think it's hard to hit a post. Much easter to hit say, a 6 by 4 foot opening. Nope not this team. night after night.

I've been meaning to ask this question.
Team A enters the zone with a player offside, and is able to cycle the puck for say 30 seconds before scoring a goal. But just prior to the goal, a member of team B - in an attempt to clear the zone - commits a penalty. If the goal stands, the penalty is waved off. However, if the goal is disallowed, does the penalty still stand? Had the correct offside call been made initially, no penalty would have occurred. And is the time reset to the regain the 30 seconds lost?

Can someone please explain to me why India and Pakistan have yet to go to war? Because of the Paris attacks, I've been looking up terror attacks, and there are a ton in India, of huge proportions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most of those terrorists come from Pakistan? And, both countries know this?
Short answer: they both have nukes. -
I have always been struck by the fact that Al Qaeda considers ISIS to be too radical. Imagine that. People who planned on flying planes into buildings find ISIS too radical.

The attackers who were holding hostages are reportedly dead now and that situation is over. Per a few reports.

I was prepared to wait on Lehner to play himself into top form as the team learned to play together. I figured that by Christmas the team would start to gel and be difficult to play against. There would be more losses than wins as Lehner knocks off the rust from months of inactivity. The growth would be slow and steady.
But as it stands now, the team is gelling much faster than I would have guessed. The problem becomes do we - as in fans - have the patience to allow Lehner to do this now? We have had a taste of some pretty good hockey, and some better than expected goaltending. Realistically, when he comes back, there's going to be some nights of bad play on his part. That's going to be understandable, but frustrating.
It will be a good problem to have if Ullmark plays very well and we continue to be a borderline playoff team.

I like the idea of Gus. But he seems to be struggling with his role so far this year. If not Gus, I could see giving a young guy (Jack) an A, but not a C. I like what Jack has been doing in the community with his visits to the hospital. Maybe that shouldn't matter, but it does to me.

Why Kane? What has he done in 'peg or here that you would bestow an A?

I've seen and hear this a few times. How does a year in Rochester help him learn the NA game? He's enjoying some moderate success with the current group. Wouldn't it be better they grow together?

Real question: why don't scavenger animals follow, and or consume the dead? You'd think the place would be littered with vultures, crows and what not. How long does it take for one of these things to completely rot away?

I dont understand the angst. Who really thought this was going to be a contending team this year? Did a few high scoring preseason games trick some into thinking the rebuild was complete? Sure, I'd like to see guys finish. Foligno, with an empty net in front of him, hits a stick that a D-man flicked toward the net in desperation - yeah, that made me a tad bitter. That said, our skill players are pretty decent overall. Going into the season our D was suspect at best. So far, some D-men have been surprises (McCabe) and some have been disappointments. But who was thinking our goaltending situation was solved? At best, Lehner was going to need to play himself back into shape. And he'll still have to in another 6 weeks.
I see a team that started 4 rookies (Eichel, Samson, McCabe, and Ullmark). With that lineup in the first period I saw them control the puck in the Devils end and complete two line changes. Yeah, OK, we lost to the Devils. But like the Canadians game - which was closer than the score indicated - and the Tampa game, we competed with skill. Hockey is watchable again in Buffalo.My expectation was that - at best -we'd suck until Christmas. Then around January or so, we wouldn't suck as much. We had 54 points last year, I am expecting 70 - 80 points this year. I still think that's doable.
Bottom line. Yeah, I am entertained. I couldn't say that the last 2 years.

I didn't figure they'd be a better than average team until around Christmas. Too many new parts, questionable goaltending, etc. But this is a fun team to watch. They will grow, they will be good, they will contend.
