I gotta feeling it's going to be a dirty game. Boston is falling fast and with the two recent games against them, there is definitely some bad blood.
So after Briere's line scores 4 or 5 goals, they better stay safe.

We're Gonna Win That Cup!

Tonight's game is pretty big. We can't afford to drop this chance at getting closer to Ottawa after their loss last night.
-
Luke Decock wrote that. So ignore it. He sucked as a gay porn star, and he sucks as a hockey writer. :P
The question that needs to be asked is why were you watching gay porn?
This game has loss written all over it, if the Sabres manage a point this afternoon I'll be very surprised.

Has anyone heard if Marty or Miller will be in net tonight?
I wouldn't mind seeing Marty tonight, and playing Miller vs Carolina.
PTS, I agree, tonight's going to be a bit of a bland game. The Sabres have had an awful lot of trouble getting anything going against teams that really key on the trap.
The key to beating the trap is getting a two goal lead early on. Then Florida has to open it up and if that happens they can't keep up with us.
-
Boy I can't freakin wait to watch this Trap game. This game will be boring. Hopefully the Sabres can break through.

looks like hecht has a grade 1 mcl sprain (per dr. ruff). no olympics for jochen.
That sucks. I feel horrible for Jochen. He missed that perfect pass from Vanek and because of it got hurt. If he scores he doesn't turn his leg or body that way.

We should post a link to the opposing teams message board on the game thread to see what they have to say about the game/sabres. I dunno about the Habs though I dont know enough french...
That's a great idea, I added the link to the first post.

Anyone going to the game tonight? I'll be in section 111 about 20 rows up. Right behind the net where Sabres shoot twice.
-
Damn ... Centre Bell got pretty quiet. Finish them off!
-
Just watched the high stick penalty. That was a bull crap call. It hit the Hab in the left glove.
-
This is without a doubt the most important game of the year. If they win tonight, it can give them the confidence they need down the stretch to make a run at first. If they lose, it can set the Sabres back a bit.
I hope Hasek doesn't bail out today.
Lets Go Sabres ... errr ... I mean Lets Go Buffalo!
-
The only bad thing about Hamister not getting the team was that I had a job lined up with the Sabres to run their internet department. Now we have to use their horrid website.
But I'll take that trade any day of the week because Hamister would have bailed on the team as soon as the first bad financial report came in.

Also - I imagine this game is sold out because of the long stretch of away games (and because it's philly), can anyone confirm that? If that's the case, haven't we sold out quite a few in a row?
Tonight's game has been sold out for a while and Saturday's is nearing a sell out as well.

I'm sure he didn't mean it, Mike. I know that PTS is a gentle soul. He takes in sick kittens and puppies and tweety birds in West Seneca and nurses them back to health. He's too modest to tell everyone that, but it's true!
While I do all those things secretly, I do not have any class when it comes to the Flyers. I'm not asking for him to break his leg. Something minor like a sprained wrist that won't allow him to go to the olympics on his own accord because he needs to rest it.

From the way Lindy talked on WGR a few days ago, I think Miller will get the nod tonight and Saturday versus Ottawa and Marty will play against Les Habitants.
-
Here's to a Sabres victory and too an untimely injury to Robert Esche!

Copied my post from "The Wall"
Was at the game...
Boring and sloppy in the 1st (both teams), but the Sabres, as usual, picked it up in the 2nd and beyond.
As for the crowd...Sabres gear was all over the place. Thrashers fans were getting pissed at the loud chorus of "Lets Go Buffalo," every time they tried to start a "Let's Go Thrashers" chant. To quote the woman in front of me, "What are you all doing here, go back to Buffalo."
Was even what I would call a Sabres pep rally (for lack of a better term) in the concourse between periods. "Let's Go Buffalo," filled the halls. Special recognition to the group up in 315 or 316, the Sabres would be lucky to have them at home games.
That's awesome, I love hearing that stuff. I always expect a big Buffalo turnout in Tampa and Phoenix, but that game today was one of the best and it surprised me. When they panned thru the crowd, it looked like it was seriously about 25% Buffalo fans. As the game and lead grew on, you could hear the chants on TV.
Apparently, this Sabres season has not only lifted attendance at home but has brought out all the out of town Buffalo fans as well.
Good stuff.

^Indeed. These next two games are Fuccillo HUGE.
Great comback effort. Pyatt played very well. Nice to see JP get a goal. Hopefully 'Tri isn't hurt. That should have been a penalty for either elbowing or charging.
When I hear the name Eric Boulton, I can't help but think about the worst of times from a few seasons ago. What a joke of a player he is.
-
Was that a "Let's Go Buffalo" chant I heard with 55 seconds left in the second. Sounds like it was and it was then drained out by some crappy Trashers chant.
-
1-0 Buffalo. Nice shot by Kotalik. Why the hell does Atlanta have a NHL team? Sounds like there are more Sabre fans there than Trasher fans. Move the team to Winnipeg.
-
Hey PTS! Where have you been?
Let's go Buffalo!
I've been swamped at work for the past two weeks! It sucks but it pays the bills.
-
Sabres are 5-4-1 in January. 6-4-1 will look so much better than 5-5-1. It feels like ages since our last game. Hopefully they haven't become to rusty.
Go get 'em boys! No team with a name like Thrashers should ever beat you.
-
Thank God JP is back! Just in time as well. This time is starting to fall into bad habits. Hopefully the enthusiasm Dumont brings will lift his teammates up as well. I hear Pyatt is a mere week away from returning which is great as well. The more healthy players we have, the harder the players on the bottom will have to work to stay on the team.
I don't like to make predictions but I think Sabres win 5-2 with JP getting a goal.

1-0 Ottawa. Ovechkin scored for the Caps but it was called back on the high-stick.
I wouldn't expect much today. This is a gimme game for Ottawa.
