Killing of a Sacred Deer. Yeesh.
Awful.
How do you up so hard when you have Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell on the roster? Edgelord nonsense.

:) thanks NSHappy Birthday, Qwk!!
I hope the 24th was an awesome day for you.

This is why it's worth it not to have Hank on ignore (even though it is very tempting). Dude is hilarious. The Nolan years aren't looked upon too fondly on these boards. That style of play can't be understood or appreciated by most of the self loathing lesser thans...

I feel so betrayed.

Acting like 13 year old girls as an insult?
That's a weird thing to say.
In fact, I'm never not weirded out by the stilted tone of SDS posts.
-
Like, you teach the Sabres how to skate sexy-like?I'll be taking the roll of Sexy Skating Coach. I know that's a given, but, wanted it in writing.

Well, indie movies don't get wide releases for a reason. So, does that mean they are basically unwatchable by everyone else?

But...
RAGNAROK 3PEAT! YEAHHHHH!!!!

Call Me By Your Name and Lady Bird have both been setting the film critic circles ablaze. I've yet to see either :(I heard a review on NPR today from one of their snooty, hard to please critics. The reviewer, David Edelstein, ended his review by calling the upcoming film "Call Me By Your Name" a "masterpiece." It floored me a little. Subject matter not up everyone's alley, but worth checking into, it sounds like.

Heading in for Ragnarok viewing two.
:)

It's weird to see Thorgnarok absolutely torch Gaurdians 2 at everything that Guardians is supposed to be good at.
Disney's paying a lot of great directors these days.
Taika Waititi
Rian Johnson
Ava DuVernay
David Lowery
Ryan Coogler
10/10

I have a similar feeling. I knew he was alive but his death doesn't feel like much of an event given that he's been rotting in jail for 40 years.Manson is dead!!
I thought he kicked the bucket a long time ago.
-
I read the thread title as "Logan Couture" every time.
-
LOL Promo I think you hurt his feelings.

How exactly did Bylsma protect the team? Can you explain it to me?Fixed.
-
Glad Eichel has a line that makes sense. Now we need Kane with Samson and we'll have 3 lines that can do something.
-
The ghost of Bylsma roams these halls.

Acceptance of losing?
How about a coach who accepts losing possession? Everything "rotten" about this team flows from Bylsma. He set our rebuild back 2 years.
It'll take the team this season to learn the conditioning required to play real hockey in the NHL. Unfortunately their confidence is shot right now and things look even worse.
-
I still don't understand how Bylsma protected them. Was it by coaching a brand of hockey so out of touch that we let the other team have the puck so we could set up our team defense? Y'know, ingraining bad on-ice habits that Housley is going to be de-programming all season long?I just have to laugh at this. I got treated like a red headed Pokey last year for saying this exact thing.
(That's right, I can STILL blame the team being bad on Bylsma)

Okay Murder on the Orient Express is great. Kenneth Branagh is incredible. My girlfriend said it best (as she always does): A very thoughtful film.
It has a similar setup to Hateful 8 and tackles a lot of the same themes. It's also 5000 times better.
-
Of course Marcus and Ennis would say that. They just played for Starts Gorges in 3-on-3 Bylsma for 2 years. Of course playing to lose has become ingrained. In order to play real hockey in the NHL you need to have the expectation of winning posession. The fact that the Sabres aren't doing that is not a reflection of their character. They're not ruined. They've been playing counter-intuitive hockey for 2 seasons straight.
The fact that we've been rocked by injuries and that our new coach is struggling is not helping.
I get so sick of hearing hot takes about the hypothetical personalities of the players. I'm sick of hearing about money that Jack hasn't even seen yet. And I've heard enough about rotten cores for my lifetime. The rotten core was rotten because Darcy sat on his hands and accepted a team with Vanek and Pommers as the best forwards for years. Not because those guys didn't have the character and spirit in them to win.
It's all a bunch of Because Buffalo BS. The Sabres have a lot of growing to do this year, but I still believe the talent for a contender is mostly assembled. The team will find it's confidence and rip off a couple of win streaks in the second half of the season, I have no doubt in my mind.
It sucks that we're not gonna make the playoffs yet again but it is what it is.

I re-watched Star Wars 7 recently and I enjoyed it a whole lot less.
There's charm and some great acting (Harrison Ford and Oscar Isaac are frankly too good for this movie), but it's way too safe.
Also, Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren are all written way younger than they are supposed to be. And wayyyyy younger than the actors are. Rey's internal conflict of being abandoned by her parents and still thinking they're gonna come back is like 13 year old stuff max.
Finn pretending to be a resistance member in the first half of the movie is the only thing for him to do other than shout "woohoo!" at other characters.
And I mentioned before how I think Adam Driver is too old to be Kylo Ren. It seems like it should've been an Ezra Miller role.
I hope in 8 all the characters are inexplicably aged up before the movie starts. I feel like there's a pretty good chance of that happening.
Going from JJ Abrams to Rian Johnson is like upgrading from Tyrod to Carson Wentz, so I'm still p excited.
150 minutes, though? Bleeecchhhhh tooooo long.

I like Civil War. I like all the Cap movies. I think the character arcs of iron man and cap are really strong. And the fight scenes are super well blocked.
Infinity War being all serious and stuff does not get me excited after the amazing fun time of Ragnarok. And Thanos looks like a mix between Josh Brolin and a Greg Roman's fingers.
