Well it was nice that Skinner finally decided to show up. He continues to play like that and I take back all my earlier doubts/thoughts on the trade.

People scoffed at Bogo getting an A, wanted it to go to Sam as I remember. Decision looks pretty good right now imo.

I think this win might have been more about how bad they were than how good we were, but I'll take it. Much more fun  to watch a win obviously and signs of life were there.

Bogo with the A kinda reminds me of when Rob Ray had it. This is a locker room and someone who sticks up for his boys A. I’m good with him having it. He is also a decent/good player so better than Ray in that stand point. Rob Ray was my favorite player growing up so I don’t know if that has me thinking this way.

What annoys me is that there have been 1000 worse offenses just last season. I guess you gotta start sometime.

I completely agree, the hit was not as bad when I watched it over and in slow motion it just looked worse than it was. I am good with the 20 games though it was a 10-15 games do to his history. I thought the Domi bull shite was worse and deserved 10 games.  I just hope they keep it up.

They mention in the article how surprised/nervous his wife is about this disclosure. It's very much a "I'm going through this hell, I'm being public because it's better than keeping it in the dark" sort of feel. It makes you wonder, when you consider that and the sheer number of post-career tell-all's of similar and various hells, how many dudes in the NHL are dealing with career changing/life changing demons on the daily in silence. We know they're out there. The stigma of illness (physical or mental) is so strong when your ability to move and perform denotes your worth. But I think, and I hope, the time has come that these struggles will be met with more understanding than criticism (the whole "oh he's weaaak" argument).

It’s pretty crazy how what these guys go through is similar to what a lot of the people who get out or are still in the military. Especially the stigma of illness especially mental portion. That is one of the reason I am no longer in the Navy. When I started to go get help for my physical and mental issues the doctors were like you can’t re-enlist do to your ailments and I was not any worse then half the people I served with. They get to stay in by suffering in silence. I am happy I got help even it meant I had to go “home”.

And his son just got 5 games or the rest of the preseason. What joke. Player safety is a bs thing.

I think all pre season suspensions should start when the regular season starts. Make it actually hurt the players paycheck and team.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but here's a post on Dahlin from hfboards - a guy in Sweden who's seen a bunch of his games. Thought it was interesting and worth sharing.

I would too .. earlier .. like a year ago I thought personally that he looked kind of like Rob Blake. I thought that then but it does not fit now. Disclaimer: I live in Sweden and I saw at least 40 SHL games 20 of which were with Frölunda. All of them live on TV.

So he is like 16 and there is a highlight goal that gets repeated on TV and so I pay attention. This is where it starts: what the hell .. what is this, who is this .. and so on.

During the 1,5 years before the draft he went from being the most explosively offensive defenceman to a solid stay at home guy. When he scored the most spectacular goals he was also kind of sort of shaky on D.

But he changed that. And the last 3 or 4 months of SHL play .. I often found myself wanting the young 17 year old on the ice rather than any of the veterans in tight situations. He had only two shifts in game with the olympic swedish team .. during those brief intermissions he has one assist and gives away a goal to the opponents.

I would say that is pretty wide range for a 17 year old with only two shifts on ice.

With the club team he is now one of the (perhaps even THE) most solid D-man at only 17 years. Rasmus at this point is a seriously good defenceman .. you aren't nervous when he jumps on the ice .. you feel safer. I mean that .. I am not just saying it.

And that is where he left us. Quite a few of us are going to follow his career across the Atlantic I suppose but now he is sort of yours. A Buffalo Sabre.

The best defenceman of the SHL last year was Lawrence Pilut and he is also yours. I would not be surprised if Lawrence wins the Calder over Rasmus too .. L.P. is phenomenally good. I hated him on HV71 .. one of my least favourite Swedish teams. He is very very very good too.

I guess I'll be following the career of Rasmus from here from now on.

    Cheers

I think it moved. This makes me more excited hearing he is good on D to boot.

  6. I do love the Buffalo style pizza and I have to go to my local shop when ever I make it back into town. I always get Capozzies in Gowanda since that’s where I’m from. I also really like Blasdel pizza and La Novas.

Here in CT we have some amazing pizza that I like almost as much. It’s thin crust and Frank Pepe’s uses the thick pepperoni that makes greasy cups.

  7. Just got a cheap bottle of scotch $30 called black bottle. It is amazing for the price. Has a little peat to it. I think this might be my go to daily drinker. I was wondering if anyone else has had it and what they think if not any recommendation for $40 or less.
