  1. :o  :(  :w00t:

In some ways I'm glad for Thomas; however, on the other end, I know what it means to loose, but in the end I think it will be the best thing for him. Islanders look to be a strong up and coming team, and it doesn't hurt that Vanek will be playing along side John Travares.

Good Luck Thomas and Family; you'll be missed.

  2. Burn.

    The water was great.

IMHO, I think your "fandom" for Kane in a Sabre sweater is blurring your sense of trade equality. To make things fair, you should attempt to play the GM of the team you're hoping trades with Buffalo, then ask yourself if you'd give Kane away for a guy like Pommers.

The answer is, without a boubt, NO.

The disclaimer in the original post:

"I am sure there are a lot of problems that would make this deal impossible; I can think of a couple:"

Prior to writing the post, I listened to the WGR Kane interview, and I could Imagine Paul H. drooling over the prospect of Kane coming to play for Buffalo one day.

First of all I will not even pretend that I know anything about trades, and the mechanisms behind them.

To me it all seems a bit convoluted.

I think it is humorus when they use words like "considerations"; to me that word is a bit ambiguous.

Considerations: Darcy get's put up in a hotel in downtown New York City with a harem of prostitutes.

    Think HHHHAAAAPPPPYYY thoughts.

  3. I'd throw in Gragnani along with Pominville just to see if Chicago would add in Duncan Keith.

Other than raw objective data, I can only imagine how they figure out what is fair.

The trades Boston made years ago definitely set them apart from the pack.

San Jose still has not reaped the benefits.

  4. You won't get Kane for just Pomminstein, maybe for Vanek or Myers straight up

Kane was a #1 overall pick and younger then Pomminstein, he has also been a better player in his short career then Pomminstein. A little slump he is in now will not have the 'Hawks trading him for just anyone

If the Blackhawks thought they could still get the job done without Kane, wouldn't it be tempting to deal him off, thus creating some cap space for themselves among other things?

    Absolutely.

But, it would take more than Pominville to get him ... were talking Vanek, or Myers and probably some picks going both ways.

    Draft pick, and Vanek?

I didn't realize this guys stock was so pricey.

I would have to disagree, I think Vanek is far more valuable than Kane.

  5. Straight up?

    Never going to happen.

Would you like to see Kane in the Blue and Gold?

Darcy would have to give up this entire draft to get Kane. Plus McNabb and Kassian.

    That seems a bit excessive.

Are you saying 1st round draft pick, McNabb and Kassian?

  6. I would have to agree that it is time for Stafford to move on.

Would teams consider Drew Stafford in a trade?

I am interested in seeing Patrick Kane in the Blue and Gold; however, I don't think a trade like that would involve Drew Stafford's name.

I maybe going out on the limb but, I would like to see Buffalo trade Jason Pominville to the Blackhawks for Patrick Kane.

Patrick Kane is in a huge slump right now, and after listening to the Blackhawk media, it sounds like he is in a bad way on several front's.

It maybe be the away to procure a young talented wing with some attitude. Changing of the guard.

Kane and Kassian; looks like a couple of needed fire starters to me, especially when we don't even have smoke right now.

I am sure there are a lot of problems that would make this deal impossible; I can think of a couple:

    1. Kane would really have be in a bad way with the organization, and be looking to be traded.

    2. The Blackhawks are one of three teams that lead the goals for statistic, are they in need of anymore offense? They are in that position without Patrick Kanes production.

They can afford to wait for Kane's slump to end.

It's never that simple is it?

  7. Why the hell did they keep Tim Connelly?

I'm glad they showed some compassion when the guy was down; however, like Mark Savard it is time to hang up the skates.

The thing that made Connelly great was he was fearless when he first started.

He plays the game of hockey like, he is scared.

Instead of checking a guy along the boards during the Leafs game and jumping all over the puck, he offers a mediocre poke check; furthermore, to watch him give that puck away that cost them the game was more than I could handle.

Thank God for off buttons on Tv remotes; I could not get to it fast enough.

I wish the best for him in the future, just let that future be on another team.
