  1. I will not be checking back here until tomorrow; I work nights and have been awake since 3:30 yesterday afternoon. BUT ... I called the 1 800 #, and through the automated system, it said that to get it now, it will be 1 payment of $171.80 ( 4 payments of $42.95 ) . I called and talked to a rep, and was told that I am already signed up ( 7 years going!), and that my price is $39.99/ 4 payments, saving me over $11. She offered me free HBO, Starz ... for 3 months, I said 'no' and that I'd rather get a better price on the hockey for being a longtime, faithful paying subscriber. She said, 'I can offer you $10 off/month for 10 months.' Thank you very much ... and good night.

  2. My neighbor borrowed my chainsaw a few weeks ago, I realized last weekend that I needed it and I had to track him down to get it back. I took it home and it's not working and leaking fuel. This is a guy who you never hear from unless he needs your help or wants to borrow tools. F'n neighbors. :censored:

This is my sister who borrowed the old ShopVac/blower that now only the blower works - and that's what she's borrowing! I am VERY leery of letting her borrow my stuff, especially when it's only a week old.

I'll be sure to tell her that yes, she should have put the $$ into the kitchen. ;)

  3. My complaint on this Thursday? My sister always wants to borrow all of the yard 'tools' instead of getting her own. And if I hear the complaint about spending the $200 on the leaf blower, I'll have to wonder how she just dropped thousands $$ on a new kitchen. Call me selfish, but my Husqvarna is NEW!

  4. I just worked my 10 hour overnight shift, my 89 yr old Dad has a lump and a black eye from falling out of his wheelchair at the nursing home that would make any fighter's face look lame, the last few days for me have been exhausting. Buffalo wins back to back games - which when they WIN the second, usually the excuses come out as to why the opponent played poorly. Now the talk here is still not happy with this team. These threads are like the proverbial train wreck, that you can't turn your back on. If anyone here thinks the Sabres win it all this year, say so. WHEN healthy, they are a real good group to watch. They dug themselves in a hole that would only be called miraculous if they reached the top. DR made a drastic move in some eyes, not good enough to some, just plain dumb to others. I get the feeling WHEN the Sabres win it all - in 2 years or 4 - there's going to be negativity about SOMETHING.

Happy to report, I'm going to bed.

I'll be up tonight to watch the game, yet another measuring stick game. As always, I want a win ... with Hodgson getting his first point(s) in the blue& gold, and Vanek scoring.

  5. 4 reasons for optimism:

    1. The first and fourh goals by Boston never should have gone in. The fifth was an empty netter.

    2. The sabres scored 2 goals on the hottest goalie on the planet.

    3. I sensed real desperation on the ice. It didn't pay off, but they are really trying.

    4. After connolly's debacle against Boston, he is a lot closer to the door. I watched the post game interview last night, and I think he knows it, too. If nothing else, he will play the best he knows how. He got to hear that his coach has thought about benching him.

Sabres get off the Schnide tonight. An offensive explosion chases Price in the second. Roy nets a hat trick. Sabres win big, 7-2.

  6. It is amazing to me how many "fans" show up to this thread when the Sabres are losing. Where were you the last 2 games? No wonder no NHL/NFL player wants to come and play here. I'm not sure if it is the shi**y weather or all the shi**y deep fried chicken scraps we eat that make us so sad. The bench is fired up

I know ... I'm about 1/2 a day late ... these 'fans' do a lot better voicing AN opinion when Buffalo's losing.

  7. 3rd shift blows...

I think it's the best ... summertime enjoy the day with some golf right after work, and hockey time = sleeping until 1/2 hour before game time and watching it all. And off to work. Couldn't imagine working any other shift.
