anyone else ONLY allowing themselves to think about Eichel? there is too much Buffalo in me to allow myself to think we're going to beat a 1 in 5 chance. I say he winds up in Canada.
...which might be fun...since none of the Canadian teams on that list are in our conference.
-
no replies? figured this thread would be 3 pages long by now.
so how good is he?
-
Barnaby for Stu Barnes jumps out at me. So happy to get rid of that punk for a solid player and a leader.
-
Monster game by Worley in SF....he shuts out the Giants and we're only half game out of the Wildcard!
-
Agree. If we can send Myers to Detroit for a bag of pucks it can happen! The only way I'm ok with us not getting the number 1 or 2 pick next year is if we win the Stanley Cup.
-
I was going to pile onto Darcy by bringing up Tsyplakov, then i saw that glistening deadline deal brought the Sabres 13 goals in 70 games played in 00-01. It's still a shock that didn't put us over the top. Coyotes fans should be stoked.

good god can we please lose and get this soccer crap over with for the next 4 years. there i said it.

That shirt with his face on it is hilarious. BRAVO... :clapping:
-
i like how the picture accompanying the article shows him in the turd-burger.
-
i think he means they seem to be trying harder. What does that mean?
-
who the hell is asking for htat? i just want fights gone and the another two things are already illegal. plus the players have outgrown the playing area and that needs to be addressed. and soccer sucks!I'd rather watch indoor soccer than hockey with little to no physicality. That is a non-stop, fast paced game, and the close quarters make it much more physical than regular soccer. I really enjoyed when Buffalo had a team.
-
just please take this garbage out of hockey. and while you're at it, lengthy suspension for head shots and boarding, make the ice bigger and the goal wider and taller. it would be freaking showtime and you would see the sport take off.

i've always been a Kassian believer and have always expected hm to develop into a better player than Hodgson. But damn, he must have a screw loose.

GREAT column by Bucky this morning:
http://www.buffalone...d-rift-20140304
I am sure the "blame-the-media" crowd will be out with their long knives as usual...for whatever reasons they can dredge up. But sorry, the guy's opinions are legit because (despite what others have intimated in this thread), he DOES have sources and connections, and he DOES know what's going on better than the frequent visitors of an internet message board. His opinions are only opinions, but they are better informed than 99.9% of fans. That s a fact.
-
Frankly Ted looks like hell right now. I realize that Pat was a good friend but why does Ted have to keep repeating to the media that something bad happened to a dear friend and now , when he is emotional isn't the time to get into it in case he says something he'll regret. Does he think the organization hasn't seen these soundbites he gives the media ? Just suck it up Ted. I actually have a lot of respect for Ted Nolan. I think he's a stand up guy with principals. Sure he's made mistakes in the past but he seems to have tried to better himself and has grown in the process. None of us are lily white. Lead by example Ted and coach this team. Forget about the shite you can't control and control the things you can. Sign the damn contract.
i think i am starting to grasp why he hasn't had that many opportunities over the years.
-
you "blame the media" guys are a hoot.

Lindy was GM?
sorry i was clearly hallucinating and i typed the wrong name. i was so bewildered by the concept that a sportswriter got our GM fired i lost my grip on reality.
actually i need to sign off and get some work done or i may never get it back/...have fun with this today, everyone!
-
WTF is it with Bucky Gleason? He ran one GM out of town and he's looking for another trophy?
OH MY GOD.
Bucky Gleason got Lindy fired??!
You are amazing.

ha. grigorenko? he should just worry about learning to skate and hustle like an nhl player. i won't be surprised if he gets moved before he's back in the nhl. What's a kid like Grigorenko to think about this whole Pat Lafountaine affair?
Wasn't it Pat who said that Grigo had to learn to be patient and EARN his place on teams.
I think that Pat should look himself in the mirror. Twice now, Pat has been rushed into influential
positions and then left at the first sign of trouble. That's not a good example Pat.
My take on things is that Lafountaine was being forced into a figurehead role and that he didn't
care for it. That's not what he signed up for. But, come on. He should have at least stayed
to the end of the year. You gotta practice what you preach.
I take this all back if it was something more insideous that people are keeping private. Well,
except the Grigorenko part because this kid has to really have his head spinning right now.

who else is dying for the next deal so we can forget about this for awhile?
-
everyone (including me of course) needs to remember to take each others opinions with a grain of salt because of how little hard info there is.
regarding concussions...it is not at all crazy to bring that up. it is as plausible as anything else. if lafontaine cared what the fans think he could say something, but he evidently, doesn't.
-
good question. the same people that convinced him darcy was a genius? sawyer?Who are these "Pegula people" that Hamilton refers to in the interview, whom nobody crosses and survives?
i bet littman and overdorf had a hand in this.

It's been a long time since I've been here. Looks like I only post once a year, so let's make it a good one. From the outside, this seems to reflect more poorly on PLF than anyone else. Given his history in forcing a trade from Long Island, forcing a trade out of Buffalo, resigning from the Islanders after 40 days, and now abruptly resigning from the Sabres. It appears that while PLF is a very classy individual externally, his pattern of behavior indicates he's pretty temperamental and looks to dramatically leave a situation when things don't go his way.
he also had concussions. lots of them.
Up to 5 AHL teams heading west

GOOD. Maybe now we can somehow get a game in Hershey again next year??
I look forward to seeing the Amerks in Hershey every year. Really pissed they couldn't figure out a way to get these two great old-time AHL teams together AT ALL this season. Just idiotic.
