The Sabres would have picked 4th twice if these rules were in place at the time.
Dallas was only 1 goalie away from being in the playoffs. Would they trade the #3 for one?

BIB?
Bottled in Bond
Basic key parts of BIB are must be 100 proof and aged a minimum of 4 years. Many of them are just plain tasty and good values.

Over 2 months and no whiskey talk? Boy, haven't missed much have I?
Should I buy the Weller SR 1.75 for $48? Not really a great value pour anymore.
BIB seems to be the way to go nowadays.

Same order for me too.
When I first found Weller Antique, a retailer in Brockport was selling it for $19.99 for a 1.75L bottle. Not a mis-type. Before everyone knew that Weller was the same recipe as Van Winkle they sold the stuff for cheap. I was crowing about how good it was to anyone who would listen. And then bourbon blew up and those bottles of Antique went to $24.99, and then $29.99, and then you couldn't find it any more. I don't think I've seen a 1.75L bottle of Weller in 5 years. Maybe longer. the 1.0L bottles are going for $30+ now....... when you can find them.
The good old days of 2-3 years ago. :)
I haven't bought the $30 750ml I've seen of the SR. But I know by next year I will regret it.

I've been hording the 2 bottles of Weller I have. Rarely seem to be able to find it in retailers nearby. One of those bottles is a 12yr. They don't make any better. Now that I can afford good bottles again I need to break those out once in a while. They've been collecting dust for about 4 years now.
The 12 year are my favorite of the 3 (then OWA followed by SR.) Of course BTAC Weller would be in another category I hope to enjoy someday. They've all become as rare as anything nowadays.

The following season or 2 after Las Vegas when Quebec enters the league - how's everyone feeling about expansion then?

Thanks to High Ankle Sprain for reminding me of this Queen song in the old fart thread...great song and pretty cool video.
Hard to beat this 'hard rock' song from back in the old days of 1991:

Took the Roadmaster out for a spin tonight. Got it back from the shop on Friday after getting some brake and steering work done.
It drives great. I really missed rear wheel drive. I haven't had it since I got rid of my Suburban back in 2011. I will never own another front wheel drive car. They just handle all wrong.
So you are only ever going to own old cars or performance cars. Stock up on that kitty litter for winter.

Was a trip to the Senaca Mall a thing for any of you?
Listened on the car radio in the parking lot as the Bills finally broke The Streak.
I heard that on SiriusXM on the way home tonight.
That is funny.
I heard about the study like a month or so ago. Of course the study was done longer ago than that. I haven't been in this thread for ages.

Old Fart Music

'39 is a track from Queen's Night at the Opera album. If you count the tracks of all their albums in order, it's the 39th track. The song is about Einstein's Theory of Relativity, in which explorers leave the earth and travel for a year (in their time) and return to earth a hundred years later.
It shifts from science fiction to tragedy abruptly in the last three lines of the song, when one of the travelers mourns his long-dead wife:
All your letters in the sand
Cannot heal me like your hand
For my life still ahead pity me
Happiest song ever written as per Dutch cognitive neuroscientist Dr Jacob Jolij

I've got a bottle of Berheim's wheat whiskey (Heaven Hill distillery - same folks that make Elijah Craig) in my cabinet. It is really soft, subtle stuff. Nice change of pace but generally I like more complexity in my whiskey. If theirs is anywhere near as good as Bernheim's I'll be impressed.
Finally got around to locating some Bernheim. I do enjoy it very much. Very mild and gentle. Soft and subtle are good terms for it. 51% soft winter wheat, 39% corn and 10% barley malt.
I do love the wheated whiskeys; the wheaters. The Weller's & Larceny of course
I would love to try more of those outliers. The high wheats, high oat, high triticale, If I ever won the lotto I would start up a distillery and play with all those weird grains. Make plenty of moonshine, vodka and gin so as not to lose my shirt as the whiskey ages.

Let me be the voice of calm. We've seen worse where players return to the game. He's young. Those ligaments are stretchy. Snuff has protective qualities.
Let me take the other side.

Barrel proof EC? Oh man, I am jelly. Cant find it here.
Probably one of the most difficult affordable (for now) bourbons to find out there.
I've only gotten my hands on 2 of the 12 releases. But it's like liquid manna from heaven.

Drinking a few versions of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Gosh darn ain't they good.

I'm guessing that Rex was upset at how little Greg Roman was running the ball.

Amy suggestions on some rye whiskey's?
If you are talking Canadian - Canadian Club 100% blows the Crown Royal away. If you want to try a wild Canadian rye then look for Alberta Rye Dark Batch Whisky. It actually includes 8% of Old Grand Dad bourbon and 1 % of actual sherry blended in.
On the KY front - Rittenhouse Rye BIB is very popular for a very good reason. That 100 proof really gives the Rittenhouse spice an added boost. I was originally going to say that I still love Sazerac Rye (baby Saz) better. Not sure anymore comparing my open bottles. The Saz is fruitier but I'm picking up more of the corn now then when the bottle was new. Though their mashbills are pretty much the same (both of course are only 51% rye). You really can't go wrong with either for the price points. Good value with either.

The 2016 BTAC info is out. Now if only I could ever find any of the actual product.

Ive had Wisers. And enjoyed it. Definitely a Canadian style rye, but much more enjoyable than the other Canadians Ive had. Real easy sipping.
Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye is a pretty decent Canadian style. Not as great as the hype it has gotten; but tasty.

A backup goaltender backed out of signing with the Sabres. Things can still improve.

Seems like the only statement in that article that says he might sign with the Preds was from Vesey's father. Perhaps a little effort of one team trying to screw over another?
Time to have a conversation about the board again?

As someone who really hasn't paid attention here in a year or more. I recall reading this type of thread then. And the year before that. And the year before that. (And I recall reading this exact post by someone else who kind of faded away back then and back then and back then.)
It's just the nature of message boards or whatever they call them now. Some people post just for reaction. Some people react to those posts. Some people post and get a reaction. Some people react to any post.
To keep this relevant; the Bruins will always suck.
